Datsyuk & Holmstrom more than likely won't play this weekend
stevkrause replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
I'd rather them both (especially Pavel) take a few extra days and not risk re-injuring themselves if that's what they need... both the games this weekend we can and should be able to win without them... -
I will be very surprised to ever see Ozzie play again to be honest... groin injuries on goalies are no joke, especially at his age and when it's a repeated injury... I have a strong feeling that Ozzie's career is going to have the unceremonious end that Maltby's did...
-
He has been been very inconsistent lately, but last night can not be included in the sample size... it was just a freak night and an anomaly... you very rarely will ever see games when a goalie gives up 5 goals where not one of them was weak and only one could you even say he could be partially responsible for (the Michalek one he could have played the angle better and probably poke checked the puck initially)... let the season play out, I think he will bounce back and finish strong...

I'm available for company retreats and public speaking events too! :beerbuddy:

Just think of how worth it, it will be once you're done with your graduate degree though... nothing in life worth having comes easy! Doesn't sound pleasant, but you'll get through it stronger and more appreciative of what you have when it's done! As for Travis Roy, that is at the top of the list... like if you had to rank feeling bad for an athlete and the poor luck they've been dealt on a scale of 1-10, with 1 feeling little to no pity and 10 making you almost well up when you think about it, Roy is a 12... That's kinda a good way to put it in perspective - On that exact scale, I feel about a 5 for DiPietro, a 7 for Marc Savard, a 10 for Steve Moore and a 12 for Travis Roy...
-
When I ask if anyone else feels bad for him, I don't mean we should start a support fund, it has nothing to do with money, it has to do with his career as an athlete...
-
Does anyone else kinda feel bad for DiPietro? He had such potential when he was drafted and a couple really good first years... this can not be even close to how he had to have imagined his career would go...
-
It's all about $$ to them... Nabby was a solid, CHEAP, option... Smith makes 2.2m... I'd make a hefty wager that if TB exposes him to re-entry waivers, that NY would take a shot... I still would have like to see Detroit put some extra incentives in his contract that would have made him less attractive to other squads, like NY, that only care about the bottom line

You Hudler haters are so narrow minded and ignore facts - His last 15 games: 15 GP 3G 9A 12pts +2

You will need some assets to add to the offer for the sale to join on... do you have any shoe laces, bags of returnable bottles, campbells soup labels and trial size boxes of Fruity Pebbles you can contribute?
-
I would take a Stortini type player that isn't a pylon and is only a marginal fighter (but always willing) over a best fighter in the league (arguably) in Boogard who is otherwise useless and basically forces you to play shorthanded anytime he's on the ice...
-
Well, we clearly see who should be responsible for the finances of this partnership... sounds good, I'll handle marketing and public relations... we will confer on personnel decisions.
-
Exactly, he averages 10 or so pts a season, is good on the forecheck, has pretty good speed and as you touched on, isn't afraid to fight anyone... I think he's exactly the type of "enforcer" that still belongs in today's game, not a pylon who fights, but a slightly below average average in the area of skill player with speed, intensity and no fear...
-
I can throw in a left-over case of Bud Light from NYE, 2 Resse's Peanut Butter Trees, some old paver stones and a 2/3 empty case of ceramic floor tiles... maybe we can partner up and make a pitch as an "Ownership Group" what do you say?
-
wow, interesting move by Edmonton, for what he offers, he's definitely worth keeping around as a 4th liner/13th/14th forward... I wouldn't mind him here at all...
-
I've thought about this even before the announcement of the sale with how the team took a nose dive this season - Parise will end up a LA King, mark my words.
-
Kinda stinks he had to break up Eaves-Zetterberg-Franzen with how well they've played together, but with who's healthy and their natural positions, it makes sense... I still hope Eaves gets some PP time and would like to see him maintain PP time even with everyone healthy...

It's actually not that close to the Joe and the food is good, but not great... it's worth stopping at if you're going to a Tiger's game, but ironically, not really good for a Wings game - I've never gone to Chelli's for a Wings game, because I'm not a fan of taking shuttles into the game, but they probably do have one I'd imagine...
-
You still have to navigate your way through the crowd to get there, then get outside and back in and back to your seat... even with this method, you should plan on missing game time... this option is still better than the bathrooms of course, but the best method is to avoid having to go if possible...

I think the problem with a lot of people here, is that there are a lot of bad stories out there about Tootoo the man, as well as Tootoo the hockey player, that are very damning and cast a poor reflection on him as a human being as well... Everyone deserves a second chance, but we are all responsible for our own actions and have to accept responsibility and own up to our mistakes... now that he's out of rehab, it will tell if he's actually trying to become a better person, or just giving lip service and will continue to be a low life...
-
The single best advice ANYONE can get if they've never been to the Joe before - EMPTY YOUR BLADDER BEFORE THE GAME AND LIMIT YOUR FLUID INTAKE DURING THE GAME If you have to take a bathroom break while there, plan on missing at LEAST 3-5 minutes of actual gametime... trust me.
-
If they REALLY wanted him, they'd be smarter to trade for him before his rights expire and it would likely cost them less than four 1st round picks and/or 6.5m+ and they could negotiate a deal based off of his stay from the deadline period on, after he's already had a taste of the franchise, plus they'd get him for a playoff run as well... with that said, I still see there being a slim to no chance of him EVER ending up here
-
Per the new CBA, if you sign a RFA player to a deal worth 6.4ish million+ it's actually four 1st round picks, a pint of virgin blood, and a vial of children's tears

I don't agree with you often, but you're dead on with this one...
