You should never take pleasure in another person getting injured... but...............
-
Oh, without a doubt, lack of offense and in inability to move the puck through the neutral zone is what killed the US... once again(and I feel like I'm beating a dead horse here) - All I was stating was that no goalie(from any country) was going to steal a game the WJC and that has been the X factor in the past...
-
Once again, I'm not saying he was to blame, only that he didn't steal a game... he was good - not great, that's my only point...
-
Agree to disagree... I didn't think he played that great, he made the saves he should have... once again, I'm not saying he played poorly, but a couple big saves and maybe you have US winning that game 2-1...
-
Goaltending has been the Achilles heel for everyone in this tourney... that's what did the US in and will surely do Russia in, in the Gold Medal Game... this was also why Sweden is not playing in the gold... I'm not saying all of these goalies are BAD, but none of them were capable of stealing a game, which you almost need in the WJC...

Stats don't always tell a whole story... the way I see it, it was retired and should be again, especially since it's already out of circulation... Regardless of stance on this issue - They should completely un-retire it and allow it to be issued, or they should hang it in the rafters... just my opinion...
-
I still think it is more likely that is has a connection to Aurie not being in the Hall Of Fame and Illitch wanting to the team to have a legacy where retired numbers were of the utmost honor and due to Aurie being from SO far back in the teams history, not being in the HOF and not having a personal connection with the Illitch's... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Larry_Aurie

a list of things I take more seriously than mindfly: 1. A promise from a politician 2. The artistic musical styling of one Justin Bieber 3. The word of an AD in college football that there will not be a coaching change and they are committed to the current coach, after a couple sub-par seasons 4. Brett Favre's retirement announcements 5. The complaints of a woman wearing a low cut, 2 sizes too small shirt, that guys always stare at her boobs 6. The weather report I could go on...

It's a win-now, results based league and unfortunately for Leighton, he just wasn't out-performing either Bobrovsky or Boucher... one of the 3 had to be cut loose...
-
not to mention the PP...
-
Comcast carries NHL Network... I have it... U-Verse is complete crap and was one of the worst services I have ever had...
-
I know you're just making a joke, but it's too bad that Iginla's making so much... how great would he look here as a rental for a cup run?
-
Long overdue and one horrible off-season and a Jokinen contract too late...
-
Ironically, this was my first year of conscious memory watching hockey and my first memory going to a game... I was 3 going on 4 this season and was just starting to grasp the concept of the game... the following years weren't too hot either, but it was kinda cool watching them gradually progress and get better and better from bottom dwellers through my life...

I personally am and will be watching football or nothing on New Years... I'm also going to make sure none of my TV's are accidentally left on NBC, just in case one of my boxes is a Neilsen box... I'm also doing a rain dance and praying to Satan, God, Buddha, Allah, Shiva, Chuck Norris, Ron L Hubbard and the Flying Spaghetti Monster just to be safe...

The reason I say blow, is the intensity and speed at which he plays the game and the complete "invincible" way he acts on the ice, not to mention the fact that nothing seems to hurt him... I wouldn't be surprised at all if it was blow...
-
Who wants odds? I'll give you 2 to 1 that it was blow...
-
He definitely needs to simplify his game... the pairing was STELLAR when first put together, but like you said, it's almost like Stuart has become too comfortable playing with one of the best of all time and is starting to take it for granted positionally... I think they should put Salei with Stuart, so Stuart can become the offensive threat on the pairing and he can still play the right side where he seems to be more comfortable... Ericsson and Rafalski have been VERY good together (surprisingly) so I wouldn't break that combo up as long as it's working - Lidstrom-Kronwall Ericsson-Rafalski Salei-Stuart that's what I'd like to see right now...
-
That's when Babs broke this line up... all 3 of them have not been on a line since about the middle of November... learn to read - thank you! I thought I made that pretty clear, but apparently some people can't read...
-
The thing that alarms me about this, was that he was a +11 or something about 6 weeks ago or so... Like I said, I'm sure the water will find its level, but it is odd... They haven't been a line for over a month though and that's when his numbers started dropping...
-
and in toughest stretch of our schedule all year... this is a major bummer...
-
Yea, let's call someone up, so someone can sit... you don't NEED a 13th forward, that's ridiculous
-
I stand corrected... I guess I should take my piss and vinegar into that thread then
-
EXACTLY - we have enough players for 4 lines, so call-up=no. /thread.
-
yea... this deserved a thread of its own, it couldn't possible have been touched on, or included - Here: http://www.letsgowings.com/forums/index.php/topic/67785-how-do-you-think-the-wings-will-do-without-dats/ or Here: http://www.letsgowings.com/forums/index.php/topic/67779-datsyuk-out-4-5-weeks-with-broken-wristhand/
