hahahahaha, okay...

Here, let me answer that for you - Price: GP / W / L / OT / Min. / GA / SA / GAA / PCT / SO / PIM / OTGA / OTW / SOS / SOG 19 / 5 / 11 / - / 1002 / 53 / 500 / 3.17 / .894 / 2 / 4 / - / - / - / - Howard: GP / W / L / OT / Min. / GA / SA / GAA / PCT / SO / PIM / OTGA / OTW / SOS / SOG 12 / 5 / 7 / - / 720 / 33 / 387 / 2.75 / .915 / 1 / - / - / - / - / -
-
What's Price's playoff record?
-
Here we go with this again... must we really go down the daily cap hit value road again and what is absorbed since he's already missed a quarter of the season? I didn't say they got extra cap space at years end, I merely said the cushion - ie. in the interim.
-
PERFECTLY stated.
-
Wouldn't you? 75 degrees and sunny year 'round and minimal pressure... sign me up! EDIT - oh yea, plus all the bimbo's you can handle, haha
-
according to Montreal... Ask a NY Yankee closing pitcher and their fans how they feel about that, or a Dallas Cowboys QB and their fans, or an LA Lakers PG and their fans... The job, the scrutiny, the media, nor the pressure is any easier here in Detroit... ask Tim Cheveldae, Glen Hanlon, Bob Essensa, etc...
-
Coming from someone who doesn't live in Detroit and have you ever even been to Montreal? I live in the metro Detroit area and have my whole life and I've spent a bit of time in Montreal for hockey tournaments and a senior trip for french class... and don't get me wrong, they are NOT easy on the Habs there, but if you HONESTLY think the Detroit media is ONE IOTA easier on the starting goalie here in Detroit, you have no idea what you're talking about... it's the oldest joke in the book here - the two best jobs in Detroit are the backup goalie for the Wings and the backup QB for the Lions... EDIT - See CuJo. To reply to your edit - to assume that is asinine.

Combine that 3.5+ with the LTIR cushion they receive from the time Savard already missed and that may be the only move they need to make... I wonder if they took a bath on this one, I'll be real interested to see what's coming back the other way...

and boom goes the dynamite... you seriously need to let it go about Price... Also, your logic is flawed - Montreal has played pretty well in front of him this year and he is actually facing less shots than Howard, averaged off of minutes played: Jimmy also appears to be mentally stronger than Price (granted the jury is still out), but look at Price's down year and how he reacted to the media... Howard seems pretty damn good at letting things roll off his back thus far... Howard: Shots faced per minute: 2.08 GP / W / L / OT / Min. / GA / SA / GAA / PCT / SO / PIM / OTGA / OTW / SOS / SOG 18 / 14 / 2 / 2 / 1073 / 45 / 517 / 2.52 / .913 / 1 / 2 / 1 / 3 / 6 / 1 Price: Shots faced per minute: 1.99 GP / W / L / OT / Min. / GA / SA / GAA / PCT / SO / PIM / OTGA / OTW / SOS / SOG 23 / 14 / 7 / 2 / 1383 / 47 / 696 / 2.04 / .932 / 4 / 0 / 2 / 1 / - / - The fact of the matter is, I would rather have Howard in Detroit than Price and that is not to say he is a better goalie, but he damn well fits the city and the team better.
-
That was actually pretty damn funny... thanks for posting! :beerbuddy:

He's been damn solid and could have a great career here, as long as he doesn't get greedy - Holland has made it a point and other teams have followed suit... you don't win the big one with a bloated contract for a goalie in today's NHL. I would guess 3-5 years at a cap hit of 2.5 a year or LESS.... there is no way Holland hampers our cap with a big contract for a goalie...

ding. ding. ding

This board just makes me laugh sometimes... how people still don't understand the cap world, the CBA and over 35 contracts blows my mind when they claim to be "die-hards" Back to the topic at hand, it is very discouraging due to the extent of the injury, but as many others have stated, we probably shouldn't get into the speculation game... lets see where we're at in 2 months + some rehab first... furthermore, we don't need to make any moves - Modano was an addition, not a necessity, we can (and are doing quite well) roll with what we have
-
Exactly - As so many others have already touched on in this thread, it's incredibly unlikely, because it usually only goes to coaches that take bottom dwellers and make them competitive, so unless he leaves the Wings, he'll probably never get the recognition he deserves... I personally hope he sets a record for tenure with a club(modern era) and coaches here until he's ready to retire or move to the front office - I'd much rather him walk away with 0 Jack Adams awards and multiple Stanley Cup rings when all is said and done, if that's the trade off we have to take...
-
It's frighteningly disgusting and disgustingly frightening how true that is...
-
Who hi-jacked a thread? I made one point and it snowballed into this... BACK to the point at hand - Bert's size is something that Z and Dats just can't make up for, regardless of how hard they work, and against other larger forwards such as Nash, Getzlaf, etc... it is a huge asset that he has become so defensively reliable...
-
that's another one that REALLY irks me... so does "whole-nother" - it's either "whole other" or "another whole" - NOTHER is NOT a word...
-
but the dominant color is white for the away teams and white is therefore the emphasized color scheme, so you don't see as MUCH of the other teams colors... I like the white at home model as well...

I thought the same exact thing when I saw them: -

message board or not, the "dumbing" down of our society drives me nuts and something as simple as poor grammar is part of it... I ignore punctuation or typos on message boards for that exact reason, they're message boards, but the butchering of the English language (when it is someones first language) is like nails on a chalkboard... there, they're and their and your and you're are two of the most glaring examples of this...
-
Is English your first language? This is a real question, I'm not asking just to be a jerk... Same here...
-
That's something I was concerned about as well... this is not a minor injury and people are acting like he will just come back and be 100%... I think there's a 50/50 chance that he retires if there's even a MINOR step back in rehab...
-
Agreed 100% - I DESPISE Pronger, but this was a horrible call...

haha, well played sir, well played
