I still think Turco is going to end up there on the cheap...
-
The more I think about it, the further Konopka drops on my list... if we're looking bargain, I'd rather us bring in someone like Brian McGrattan or Krys Barch... with that said, I'd still rather us go out and get a QUALITY player that just happens to be able to fight as well and spend a little extra - 1. Arron Asham 2. Eric Nystrom 3. Brad Winchester 4. Ethan Moreau (if bought out) --bargain-- 5. Jarred Boll 6. Brian McGrattan 7. Krys Barch 8. Zenon Konopka 9. Erik Boulton 10. Raitis Ivanans EDIT - Went a little overboard with my comparison and corrected rankings

I was thinking the same thing

With the overflow of starters available, one of them may not have a choice but to take a one year deal, if they want to maximize their earning potential - Maybe Turco to Wash on a 1 or 2 year deal?
-
that's actually a pretty damn good point... makes sense...
-
I'm sure he's not, but I'm sure teams that are interested in him will...
-
at bare minimum, legally insane...
-
yea, no kidding... this is already shaping up to be a great off season, a lot of exciting moves already... I just can't wait to see what we do with the inflator in place, we really could make a little splash with the extra money...
-
Keep in mind that Chris Mason had a pretty good year last year too and with Halak going there, Mason being a UFA and Conklin still being under contract for another year, that's another started to throw into the pool... This is a good year for a team if they want a starting goalie - they'll probably be able to get an established starter and on the cheap at that... hey, why not, that actually happened in my NHL 10 dynasty Emery?
-
I'm hoping he's talking forward as a smoke screen for McIllrath...
-
I would LOVE Clarkson and would go as far as to trade several assets to obtain him, but I don't see NJ letting him get away...
-
I still love Lils and would welcome him back with open arms, but if Johnny Boychuk could be had for around a 1.5 or less, I'd love to see him here - Right handed shot, can play the point on the PP, pretty solid positionally and can hit and I mean HIT... I still think he'll get a decent raise to stay in Boston due to his age (26), potential and the season he had: 51GP 5G 10A 15PTS +10 Playoffs: 13GP 2G 4A 6PTS 0+/- EDIT -

All original 6 teams AT the Joe. Earlier start times. Boston and Pitt Home and Homes. Yea, I like this.
-
Agreed.... the fact that they moved Wideman pretty much assured that Boychuk wasn't going anywhere... Wheeler could be a real good pickup for someone and it will be interesting to see where he lands... I HIGHLY doubt he'll still be in Boston with the trade of Horton, as someone will probably sign him to some crazy offer sheet that the Bruins won't be able to match...
-
exactly... that was arguably one of the best teams assembled in NHL history, but in a cap world, that's simply not possible...
-
That still doesn't help us though, I think Wheeler is gone for sure now, but it won't be to us...
-
yea... that part of the move really squashed this wish...
-
Yea, I just saw that it included Wideman, I was hoping it would be Wheeler... that pretty much squashes this... they'll almost certainly keep Boychuk now
-
that's exactly my thought - there are others I would prefer ahead of him, but at a dirt cheap deal, it's a good gamble...
-
Now with Horton going to Boston and them already having 6 D tied up, this just became more possible... Kenny, get this move done and I don't care what other move you make this off season and it will be an A+ off season! Lidstrom-Kronwall Stuart-Rafalski Ericsson/Kindl-Boychuk Ericsson/Kindl PP: Lidstrom-Rafalski Kronwall-Boychuk PK: Lidstrom-Ericsson Kronwall-Stuart I LOVE that defense...
-
Wideman included - that probably squashes any chance of Boychuk to Detroit
-
Agreed completely that Boll isn't really what we need, but he is a great skater and hitter as well and forechecks like crazy - good energy guy... once again, he's not on my first tier of wish list guys, I'm just saying I wouldn't hate the move if he came here... Agreed... now that I think about it, he probably belongs on my 2nd tier below Konopka... just out of the FA's available, I like his game (when he's healthy)... I guess I should have been clearer that he wasn't any type of an enforcer, since that is what this thread is...
-
doesn't really... but still plays physical, I was just saying who was on my wish list...
-
damn you... haha, seriously though, I can't believe the mods haven't fixed this yet...
-
good riddance... He signs a long term deal... there was no way the Ducks were letting him get away anyway... he will be a Duck for the foreseeable future...
