Hudler's nothing without the great Robert Lang centering him.
-
If Naslund's a bum, then where does that put Hudler, Fillpulla, and Kopecky?
-
The people from Tennessee that voted were probably trying to get to espn's NASCAR site, and accidentally ended up on espn's NHL site. I bet they're just now finding out that they have a hockey team.
-
Exactly. It seems like this has been reported like 3 or 4 times already in the last month.

Actually, these facts kind of work against your argument. Like you said, these guys did play better last year with less minutes, and that's what makes it so bizzarre that they can't score at all now, even though they're getting more ice time. Besides, a lot of stock was put into these players in the offseason, which is why Hudler and Fillpulla are on the 2nd line right now. Patience is what got these guys 2nd line minutes, and now it's time to produce, which they've shown they cannot do. Whatever happened last year seems to have withered away. I know we're not even 10 games into the season, but I don't think that it's a stretch to be mad when your 2nd line can't do s*** out on the ice. Also, what someone did in the AHL doesn't matter on the NHL level. Lilja could probably be an All-Star in the AHL.

The Joe is a tough building to play in only because the Wings are a good team. There's no other reason, especially when you consider that it's never full, and is quiter than a golf course even when it is full. Arenas are only as tough as the team that plays in them. Was Lambeau Field a tough place to play in while the Packers have been sucking these last few years? Of course not. If I had my choice, I'd probably go with Calgary or Edmonton because of how rabid those fans are there. Our fans are more emotional on LGW than they are at the Joe.

I can't believe you guys are giving so much love to Aebischer. Either I've been in a coma for the last few years, or we're not talking about the same David Aebischer. The one I remember constantly gave up soft goals and was never consistent as a starter.

We can't trade Lilja. I'd lose about 25% of my comedy material without him, especially with Lang already gone. Besides, we need an enforcer in there when Downey gets sent down.
-
He already is Sergei Fedorov, except that none of his so-called talent ever shows up on the ice.
-
Why not? In return they'd get a possible 40 goal scorer who has a rocket for a shot, an enforcer, and a young player with tons of potential and size that makes smaller players cringe at the thought of getting hit by him. If I'm Phoenix I make this deal in an instant.
-
I guess this signing means that Lilja isn't ready yet to carry us on the blueline. In all seriousness, though, I wasn't sure if he'd return after this year, so this signing would at least rebut that.

peter forsberg - only willing to go to ottawa or colorado

We don't need her on this team anyway. She can go back to Colorado where she belongs, and go back to diving around the Pepsi Center and playing once every 20 games like she used to. Go to hell Floppa. -
Gotta agree with you on Grigorenko, but that's the way it is with bringing in players from overseas. Sometimes you get a steal like Pavel and Hank, and sometimes you get a bust like this. Lets be grateful that the Wings haven't had too many of these overhyped busts like some other teams have.

Let's face it, Z is going to slow down at some point

Thanks a lot for the pic. Geez, I wonder what he sees in her? -
Ahhh, poor Darcy. This couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. I hope that ******* stays hurt for a while.

Does anyone have a picture of this Emma? I've heard about her, but have never seen what it is that we're talking about. -
50 points in his career, or 50 points in one season?
-
We can put Kopecky on a line with Datsyuk and Zetterberg, and people here will forget all about his inept play so far this season. The bottom line is we need 2nd and 3rd line scoring, not 1st line scoring, so if Grigorenko does play he won't be playing on the top line. I hope he plays well, because the other young guys we counted on this season have done nothing.
-
Gotta be Hank. Other than Lidstrom, he's our best player, and he plays as hard as anyone on both sides of the ice. I don't see either Drapes or Chelios getting the captaincy, especially since those guys are close to retiring anyway. If Lidstrom plays a few more years, Hank will be around 30 by the time he gets the captaincy. I don't see anyone else rising to take that spot during that time.
-
I'd rather have Naslund than Forsberg. He's got a better shot, isn't as injury prone, and isn't as hated by Wings fans worldwide as Floppa is.
-
It's too early to make predictions right now. Don't forget that at one point last year it looked like the Blue Jackets and Blackhawks might make a run for the playoffs, but eventually those teams faded. It seems like injuries have plagued all the teams in the Central over the last few years, but we've been the only team able to handle it well enough to make the playoffs. As someone posted earlier, I still expect the Wings to be the only Central division team in the playoffs, with maybe the exception of Nashville.
-
So if we trade Lilja to Chicago, then he'll win the Norris.
-
I can't believe those 2 guys actually had a good fight for a change. Gotta give the edge to Laraque despite the knockdown by Brashear at the end. Laraque knocked Brashear down several times and controlled most of the fight.
-
Lang for Hart!
-
Yes, but if both Kopecky and Downey score in the same game, then we might have a war on LGW that will go on for weeks.
