I think this might be finally it for the Mule, Sadly

They won't call Dano. This solves the problem of who sits for Helm or Datsyuk. -
Maybe his "hugeness" would bring more female fans to the JLA and we could fill up the lower bowl.
-
Not sure how many posters we have old enough to have attended a game there. If only GordieSid&Ted didn't get banned.

I don't remember him even getting hit in the two games he played. No surprise really. From reading his quotes in the offseason, it didn't sound like he had any business playing. -
I'd take him for a discount. He was injured last year. Yes, he's getting old so his numbers will reduce. But he's a physical presence, has a monster shot from the point and would give any team experience on the blue line in the playoffs.
-
Yeah that salary is too high. Doubt he could take less money to play elsewhere.
-
What would it take to get Chara?
-
Why is he not captain material? Because he doesn't play a two-way game? Not many star wingers do. He puts up big numbers every season and tries to hit someone hard on every shift. It's not like the guy literally stands around the entire game. He works hard. If he wasn't captain material, they wouldn't make him a captain. I haven't heard any former teammates call him out for being a terrible leader.
-
Star forwards have been standing around in their own zone since the beginning of hockey. Even more so for wingers.
-
If Cleary and Rechlicz made the team, the stadium wouldn't have been half empty last night.
-
Jurco scored 3 goals last year in over 60 games. What makes you so sure he'd get claimed?
-
It definitely doesn't look good on TV. Corporate or not, I don't remember there being so many empty seats in the lower bowl when Yzerman and Fedorov were playing. I think it's fair to say the interest has dropped over the years. Maybe not for the hardcore fans, but it has for those corporate ticket holders.

Quincey looks like he should be in the Wyatt Family. -
A few months ago, we couldn't score s*** when it mattered the most in the playoffs. That wasn't 2012. I was just talking about our comparison to last year's Tampa or Chicago. We didn't have their firepower. I think we can score regular season goals, but will our top guys disappear again in the playoffs? Long way to go until then, but it's a fair question based on the last several playoff exits.
-
Wouldn't it be better to trade Helm than play him as a 4th liner? Despite his injury history, he still must have some trade value left. Glendenning has practically made him obsolete.
-
Except Chicago and Tampa have more talent offensively, which is why they made the Finals. When you lead the league in goals and when you have Tayes, Kane, Hossa, Keith, Sharp, you don't need a lot of big forwards. I think it helps to have someone who can wear defenders down and make us tough to play against in a long series. A guy that can win some battles along the boards. I heard enough about the "team speed" crap a few years ago, before Boston kicked our asses. Speed by itself won't win. As Mr. Miyagi said, "First need balance". We need a more balanced lineup. I actually would keep Ferraro around for now. I think he plays a physical game. Not the biggest guy, but competes. He's more of a 4th liner than Jurco. Jurco has more skill and size, but didn't show me much last year.
-
Helm gets injured too often. I don't want to see him hit anymore with his fragility. A bigger 4th liner would be a more volume hitter that can actually punish the other team's defenders and wear them down somewhat. Not a guy that gets hurt eating cotton candy.

Steven "Stammer" Stamkos hits 500 points in 495gp

Makes no sense. Melrose didn't get long enough to do anything. Franchise bailed on him. Stamkos was a rookie played for a bad team. -
Don't we need someone who can throw an actual bodycheck? The 4th line isn't going to play Mike Babcock minutes anymore.

Melrose didn't screw anything up. The Lightning fired him after like a dozen games. -

Those numbers are very impressive considering this day and age. 1,000 points should get any player of Stamkos' generation and beyond into the HHOF. A difficult feat for today's players. -

Have all those annoying Leafs fans gone back to the other side of the border yet? -

That's about as much toughness as he ever showed in his career. -

Going to be a long season for Toronto with this lack of talent. -
I can see Cleary being like Bodhi in "Point Break" and surfing away during a hurricane.
