Signed Wings sign left wing Eric Tangradi

Holland pussified him. LOL. Abdeldakder may as well throw his punches with open fists. -

He could still probably beat up any fighter on our team. -
Any chance we can bring in Mike Danton?

I haven't been this excited since Holland signed Cory "The Ott Killer" Cross to cement our Cup run in 2006. -
Which Sweater Do RWs Retire First - Feds or Ozzy?

Lindros will get in. It's a matter of time. Osgood, I'm not sure about. I'd be shocked if he makes it next year. These players are not alike either. One was a driver. The other, a passenger. Come to think of it, though, if Housley is in the HOF, why can't Osgood be? Osgood also accumulated stats and was never one of the best players at his position. And unlike Housley, he's had some big team successes. -

Good move. We do need some size. Although, his career highlight at this point is being screamed at by Trevor Gillies while Tangradi was lying on the ice. -
signed Red Wings sign D Mike Green (3-years, $18-million)

We cost Bobby Lang the Art Ross trophy that year. -
I think they will. Different ownership and different mindsets. I think Lindros has repaired his relationship with the Flyers over the years. Much like Bure with the Canucks, who finally retired his jersey.

Wasn't there a poll a few years ago where Babcock was voted by players around the league as one of the coaches they'd least want to play for? Might explain why we got two free agents to agree to come here as soon as he's gone. -
Voynov pleads "No Contest" to Domestic Violence Charge

Here's the flip side to this. If he never plays in the NHL again, how would that be good for his wife and family, since he's the main breadwinner? He should be punished if he's guilty, but much like Ray Rice's wife, I can see her not being happy if his career is over. Maybe it's a Catch 22. There really are no winners here. The justice system doesn't really care about victims much. All it cares about is punishing the offender. Of course, maybe they broke up so I don't know all the facts. But even so, I think my concern is a valid one. -

Cam Neely and Housley both. One was great but didn't play very long. He got Bure into the HOF and Lindros will likely join them. Maybe Kariya too. Housley scored a ton of points, but was never an elite defenseman at any point and never won anything in his career. He will get in players like Andreychuk, and maybe even Turgeon. The HOF committee needs to realize that a lot of these 1,000+ scorers from the 80's and early 90's are guys who accumulated these stats because of the era they played in. That doesn't by itself mean Housley should be in. He's in the Hall of very good (offensively) and I don't want to take away from his being a great offensive defenseman. But his points are inflated, and his defensive skills shouldn't get him in the Hall. I can't think of any defenseman in the HOF that I would choose him over. The problem Osgood has, as I've stated before, is his poor record in Vezina trophy votes as compared to his peers. I believe he only finished in top 5 for Vezina trophy voting once. He doesn't rank as one of the 5 best goalies of his generation, which doesn't help either. A very good goalie who won a lot of games and several Cups, but not quite elite enough to make the HHOF. But you never know with the voters picking Housley over Makarov or Lindros. -
I'll bet you 100 pesos that kipwinger is right.

Signed Wings sign Brad Richards 1 yr, $3 million

I haven't been this excited since that fake thread many years back about us signing Andre Roy. -
44 points is good for a 1st liner playing with Z and Nyqyist? Maybe in a lockout shortened season it is. A talented winger would have scored more than 44 points on the first line with two talented linemates like he had. I won't deny that he battles for pucks and plays hard, but a 1st liners top priority should be putting up lots of points.

Fixed. I liked the Green signing and said so. Not sure about this one. I feel like we did this with Modano and Weiss. Past his prime, small left-handed centerman. Not coming here to score goals or be a game breaker. Not as excited about this signing as Green. We've seen this story before me thinks. -

Would be great if we could sign Lebron (you spelled it wrong). Not sure what he has to do with hockey, though. -
Can we please sign a winger that would remove Abdelkader from the top line?

GMRwings1983 replied to Dominator2005's topic in General
A good signing. I know he can't play defense, but we have plenty of defensive minded defenseman. We just needed one person who can actually move the puck and shoot the puck well. Kronwall has regressed with his shooting. Plus, Green is a right handed shot. -
This is what a real athlete looks like.

If I'm not mistaken, Crosby is top 5 all time in assists per game. So yes, he does dish it off a lot. It's kind of like how Gretzky was perceived as a pass first guy, but he scored almost 900 goals.

The Pens have lost more significant man games to injury than any other team since 2009. I had a thread about that recently. If they can ever stay healthy, they can make another Cup run. There's definitely a correlation in the league, at least since 2009, with injuries and Cup contending. You don't think a top centerman can't affect a winger's goal production? It's happened throughout history. Or are you saying goalies are so good now that it doesn't matter? Or are you saying that Kessel sucks?
-
Kessel was a star without Crosby, though. Dupuis and Kunitz aren't on his level.
-
If he and Crosby stay healthy, how many goals does Kessel score on Crosby's wing?
