We need some size and some wingers who can score goals. No more Helm or Abby on the top lines. Everyone wants a top pairing defenseman, but I don't see that happening. Phaneuf is an option but I think Toronto would try to keep him instead of letting him go to us.

Some of those "circumstances" were his fault. Keeping Cleary, Sammy and Bertuzzi around for too long. Trading a first rounder for Quincey. Spending too many trade deadlines on the phone ordering pizza instead of doing his job. His defenders make it sound like he's a victim of bad luck or something. He's made his own troubles the last few years. Yeah, there were some bad breaks in there but he's not absolved of guilt.

How old is Hossa? We could have had him for all those years instead of Franzen. We need a legit winger who can score big goals in the playoffs. If we have such a player currently on this team, please name him. -

Imagine how many goals Hossa would score on that line. Besides, Abby is not going to score big goals in the playoffs. He didn't in this series either. We need legitimate talent in the top 6. -

Abby is not a bonafide top 6 player. A bonafide top 6 player would score more points in the regular season playing with Zetterberg and Nyquist. And certainly would do more in the playoffs than Abby did. He works hard and improved greatly, but still doesn't have a lot of talent. -

Stamkos has been criticized in the playoffs before. Difference is, he's young and has upside. Of course he shouldn't retire. Zetterberg probably shouldn't retire either, but there's really no upside there. He's hit his peak and needs a Nyquist or Tatar to take over like he and Datsyuk did when the previous generation stars got old. -

This one hurts more than last year when we never had a chance. A Montreal vs. Detroit series would have been awesome and fun for the league. Then again, the league doesn't like fun anymore. No scoring, no hitting and no fighting. No ratings either. Nobody gives a s*** about Tampa vs. Montreal. -

Datsyuk was bad in the playoffs early on. So was the entire team in those seasons. But he still played better than Nyquist or Tatar have. -

Look at the quality of those 31 shots. The good chances we did have, we missed wide and weren't even credited as SOG. It all comes back to not having any real talent that can score. Guys like Abby and Helm aren't top 6 players. Either Nyquist or Tatar need to go, because they do have talent but can't score in big moments.
