Well that's odd, because other than Crosby, he's the most mentioned non-Wing on LGW. Besides, his toughness and manhood rubbed off on Calgary and toughened them up for the playoffs. I can't believe, though, that Hartley would send his personal bodyguard to the minors and play that scrub Bollig instead.

Weren't we undefeated until late in the season when having a lead going into the 3rd? You mean the three or four guys on our team will remember that? This is a completely different roster. And yes, our leaders have been here a while, but I'll take talent over leadership any day. Besides, our leaders aren't playing all that great. Datsyuk has been solid in this series until last night. Kronwall doesn't exist. Zetterberg has looked slow and old. We need the young guys who want to be the future to step up. Tatar, Nyquist, Sheahan, etc. I would be surprised. I don't think we've been eliminated at home since 1999 (if you don't count the SCF as being eliminated that is). That's one thing that's carried over the years. Who did Tampa draft with that first round pick they got for Quincey? Just curious.

Well, this isn't your older brother's Red Wings, unfortunately. We don't have those skilled defensemen anymore that could make great passes up the ice tape to tape.

Water. Heading to bed. Still games to be played. Either this team will deserve to win this series and will, or vice versa. There's other reasons to drink in life. I just don't have the same love for this group as I did for their predecessors in the 90's and even 2000's. This scrub lineup isn't expected to do much.

Thanks for putting that together. I figured it was somewhere around that. Lewis was 0-4 from I remember, so maybe I'm harsh on Babcock. Even when we won the Cup in 2002 we were 2-4 in overtimes. Come to think of it, last year we lost game 4 in OT at home and it broke the series.

Roughing up a player has nothing to do with fighting. Facewashing and scrums in the playoffs are hardly something to complain about. When the other team pulls a Bob Hartley and send McGrattan and Westgarth on the opening faceoff to start a scrum, then you guys can complain. Glendenning is supposed to be a chippy player himself. We just need to deal with it.

It's a morale killing if they can't overcome it. And if they can't overcome it, then screw them. This team blew a 3-1 series lead a few season ago. They need to man up sometime. As I said, I don't feel as bad about losing as I used to, because in cases like this, the loss is deserved. They screwed themselves.

I don't remember there being a fight. Nor is there one goon on Tampa's team. I have no idea what goons you guys are griping about.

None of those teams choked a game the way the Wings did, though. But yes, you're right. The series is still on. If this were an elimination game, then it would suck, because we'd have the entire offseason to think about it. What happens from now on depends on the Wings. It shouldn't depend on this game.

It's funny. 10 years ago, I'd be furious about this loss. Right now, I realize that we suck and deserve to lose for the way we finished the game. Because it wasn't undeserved, it somehow feels better or more appropriate shall we say.
