Not sure who else I'd put Zidlicky with, but I agree on Cole and Abdelkader.

How have they been utilized improperly? Cole has been playing on the top lines and Zidlicky has gotten plenty of power play time. Holland has probably gotten what he wanted from those players, but the team has fallen apart. I guess sometimes a GM has to have 20/20 hindsight, which is what separates them from fans.

Here's another maybe. Maybe Holland made a mistake trading for Cole and Zidlicky. As crazy as that sounds because they played well, it maybe upset the team chemistry. Things like that do happen in sports. The team was playing well, we make two lineup changes, and suddenly they're not playing well. Maybe it's coincidence. But it looks like Holland can do no right even when he makes moves.

Andersson and Jurco should sit. Jurco doesn't score goals and Andersson doesn't do anything. He might be the most useless 4th liner in the league and the greatest example of modern day Nihilism, in that he serves no purpose.

Meh, I'm pretty sure it will suck this year. I thought the same thing when I typed that. We'll see what happens. -
That team wasn't fighting for an 8 seed, though. They had the Presidents trophy wrapped up and were resting HOF starters.

If Mrazek gets us into the playoffs, there's no way Howard will start. Even Babcock isn't that stupid. You don't punish a young goalie who carries you into the playoffs by benching him once the playoffs begin. Bad for morale. This could be the last (hopefully) that we've seen of Howard as the number one goalie. -

What I will always remember about him is when he'd put the puck on his backhand, skate in a circle and couldn't figure out what to do with it after that. I also thought of game 1 of the 2008 SCF. And the endless jokes we did about him on LGW. Hard to replace such a character around here. It will be even more sad when Dano retires.
