Except Holland will never go after a Prust, Dorsett or Stewart because they fight. He doesn't care if they score goals and contribute as leaders somehow. If you fight, Holland and Babcock don't want you. Look how they ran Tootoo out of town because he actually fought. They want their 4th liners to be faceless jobbers who the fans don't care about. If he ever reads your post and runs into you in public (or private), this is the look you'd get. Please choose your words carefully.

Wasn't Mrazek the goalie when GR won the championship? If so, then he can actually win more than one playoff series per season, unlike the guy he's replacing.

And he at least looks like an NHL caliber goalie in shootouts.

Honestly, other than Howard, no Wings player has stats that look All Star quality. Not sure why every team needs to have a rep.

Oh please. I remember Bourque and Messier playing in the ASG into their 40's. Datsyuk and Zetterberg are not bigger than the game. If they're healthy, they should show respect for the game and the people before them who've played in this game.

Yep. Most Wings fans here don't like that part of the game because they've never seen their team actually play it.

I hope they go. I'm tired of Wings players acting like they're above the ASG. Go there and have a good time. Many players would give anything to be there. They can rest during the next time we face the Isles or Panthers.

They didn't. But that's what all this talk amounts to. I don't consider giving a 4th line spot to an enforcer as a big deal. 4th liners don't play many minutes anyway and are usually replaceable. Nobody is saying let's sign tough guys and play them on the top line. Last I checked, Larionov, Robitaille and Holmstrom don't play on our 4th line. Same thing with all the other teams in the league.

From reading this thread, I've learned that Joakim Andersson is the greatest 4th liner in NHL history. His roster spot must absolutely be preserved.

I didn't say they only love Canadian players or love all Canadian players. I said they don't like Kessel largely because he's not a Canadian. I don't know how you want me to prove it. It's a theory. But you have no way of proving that it doesn't factor into the media's thinking at all.

I wouldn't call any of those players beloved. Also, Pacioretty has French Canadian blood if I'm not mistaken. With Kessel's goal scoring record, if he was a "Canadian boy" as Don Cherry likes to call them, he would be a lot more popular in the Toronto media. He's the best offensive player they've had since Sundin in his prime.

They would like Kessel more if he was Canadian. I don't think that's a false statement. Also, I believe I have a point in saying there's not many beloved American born hockey players in Canadian cities. I just can't think of too many. Can you?

Because we're Wings fans first. We won't root for someone else. But that doesn't mean I have to accept every cheap piece of europuss that Holland has to stick on the roster. And if that's not enough, let's just say I want an enforcer on the team just to see kipwinger throwing temper tantrums and starting threads about how useless that player is.
