Dekeyser signed. 2 yrs $2.187 million AAV

Yeah. Maybe not in his earlier days when he had different gimmicks. I'm confused, though. Is this Dekeyser's nickname, because I've never heard it until now. I thought his nickname should be "Der Kaiser", like Beckenbauer.

    Am I missing something here?
  3. This is probably the last trivia I'll do. It's also my favorite one I've done so far. Basically, you have to name each team's all time leader in goals, assists, goalie wins and penalty minutes. I thought this would be the hardest test, but I did really good. Got 114/120 right. Some of the ones were impossible. I typed in the name of every goon, enforcer, thug and criminal I could think of, and still couldn't come up with the Rangers all time PIMS leader. Blues' leader in goalie wins was a tough one also. Anyway, enjoy. Hint: If you're having a tough time with the PIMS one, just think of power forwards of the 90's. That one worked pretty well for at least three of the teams on there. https://www.sporcle.com/games/Ben/nhl_team_leaders

NHL Trivia: Team Leaders in Goals, Assists, Wins, PIMS

Yeah, that seems to be most people's viewpoint. With PIMS, I was thinking of late 80's to late 90's tough guys/power forwards. That did the trick for many of the teams on there.

NHL Trivia: Team Leaders in Goals, Assists, Wins, PIMS

I originally typed in Vernon, but when that was wrong, there was only one other option it could be. Hint: Not Trevor Kidd.

Yep. Only current Red Wing on this list ^^^

NHL Trivia: Team Leaders in Goals, Assists, Wins, PIMS

Impressive. I missed two or three in that category. My other misses were goalie wins. Goals and assists was pretty easy, except for Washington, but I knew that answer from an earlier trivia quiz I took.

NHL Trivia: Team Leaders in Goals, Assists, Wins, PIMS

You probably did good with the PIMS part.

NHL Trivia: Team Leaders in Goals, Assists, Wins, PIMS

What did you find to be the most challenging category? I'm guessing, most people will say PIMS.

NHL Trivia: Team Leaders in Goals, Assists, Wins, PIMS

For most of them, you just need to type in 4 or 5 names, and that'll get you at least 75% of the answers. It's not a one strike you're out deal.

NHL Trivia: Team Leaders in Goals, Assists, Wins, PIMS

Meh, the Wings one was too easy. In fact, probably the easiest of any team's, whether you're a Wings fan or not. I'd say all the other original 6 teams were harder than the Wings.

Babcock Interview on 105.1 this morning

LOL. Is this the same team trainer who should have been fired years ago?

    Renney out, Granato in

Newcastle United didn't need his services, apparently.

    Alfie wants to play

If Alfie wanted to win the Cup, he obviously wouldn't want to come back to Detroit. So that begs the question. Do we really want a player on our team that isn't serious about winning the Cup?

    56 GP 0G 3A, 116PIM I will never forget you Aaron.

Favorite Dan Cleary Moment or Play

I wouldn't go that far. Cleary never was a fighter. If I'm not mistaken that fight is why Cleary's eyes always look so red.

    Renney out, Granato in

That was the night Aaron Downey won us the Cup.

Favorite Dan Cleary Moment or Play

We lost that game. Series was either 2-0 Wings or 2-1. I think it was 2-0. In any case, that wasn't Cleary's biggest play of the series.
  21. GMRwings1983

    Renney out, Granato in

Never liked Granato. He was a ***** boy that hid behind tough guys his entire career.

Favorite Dan Cleary Moment or Play

Wasn't a shootout, though. It was a big moment in a playoff series tied 2-2. I would have picked that if Cleary didn't screw up in the fight. He had Pronger in a vulnerable position at one point, and totally whiffed from what I remember. Any halfway decent fighter would have laid a guy out in the spot. It was actually Draper who scored right after that hit. But yeah, it was awesome.

Favorite Dan Cleary Moment or Play

That will probably win, but I like to forget anything that happened in those playoffs. Cleary was awful in the 2008 playoffs, but the Wings won the Cup. In 2009, he was brilliant and scored a lot, but the Wings lost and he missed that crucial breakaway at the end of game 6 against the Pens. 2007 is a better memory, because the team vindicated itself after choking in the playoffs in 2003, 2004 and 2006. Losing to Anaheim on a deflection sucked, and I still feel we'd have won the Cup if not for that play, but overall, that playoff feels better. Also likely because we won the Cup the following year. 2009 still stings because the Wings haven't won anything since then.

Would be awesome if we could get Bylsma or Melrose. .

Rule Changes in the AHL (what the NHL has considered)

That's how I feel. If neither team deserves to win, then neither should get the extra point. No reason to force a win down someone's throat by some kind of gimmick.
