Yeah, it's surprising. Twist didn't fight as much as other enforcers, but those other three players you mentioned, you'd think would have 2,000 PIM. Whoever does it next will probably be the last. Guys don't rack up PIM now like they used to. And it's not even related to fighting. As I said, a lot of non-fighters have racked up huge penalty numbers in NHL history. The league just cuts down more on physical play and suspensions are getting out of hand.

Yeah, there's a lot of top fighters that never came close to 2,000 PIMS. Yet, a guy like Chelios is way up there, even though he wasn't a fighter. Also, most of the players on the list played around the same period. Not too many old school tough guys. Back in the 60's and 70's, people didn't rank up PIM like they did in the 80's and 90's. Verbeek is a guy you can easily forget both on this quiz and on the 500+ goals club. He was just one of those guys that racked up huge numbers, but won't be as remembered in the future.

Babcock should have made a push to go to Pittsburgh. Not sure why he thought Detroit would make big moves. He's been here long enough to know better.

I don't hate the guy. I just think people overrated him for years. He inherited a great team and was surrounded by smart people. When the money ran out, he still had the brains around him in good coaching and terrific scouts. Plus he had Jim Nill. Now most of the brains are gone. Other teams are scouting in places the Wings used to scout in. We're left with a GM who has immunity at his job, and an owner who's basically as lucid as a vegetable. Holland will leave this job when Holland wants to leave this job. No one will make him.

So Holland has a new catchphrase for us to make fun of. Gives me an idea.

I thought Yzerman would be higher on the list. Then again, the late 80's is when he put up all his biggest numbers. Definitely thought Jagr would be higher, or maybe even #1.

I've been bashing Holland for years, but if you told me 3 years ago that he'd have gotten so low as a GM, I wouldn't have believed you. If I started a new franchise on NHL 15, I couldn't suck on purpose as much as he'd doing right now.

Except they have a young superstar and lots of enforcers. We have no reason for fans to attend games. A boring team full of small players who don't fight and finish middle of the pack.
