Canada can support 3 more teams in 20yrs

I can't wait until the Saskatoon Panthers and the Halifax Predators are actual teams in the NHL.

Red Wings History - Red Kelly

It was the worst move in Wings history. Kelly ended up winning four more Cups and switching positions (was there ever a more versatile player?) The way he left was unfortunate, but I've always thought it's embarrassing that his jersey isn't hanging from the rafters. He belongs up there with those other names.

Regner: Next year could be Babcock's last

    Or.......

    Now some gritty forwards.

Or Chris Gratton. Big name on LGW, circa 2007.

Peter Laviolette Hired as Predators' Coach

Yeah, why hire a guy who's been to two Finals with two separate teams?

    Wings Advanced Puck Possession Stats

Where do you get that idea from? Guy missed almost the entire 2nd half of the season. Did he say something about feeling better than he ever has? At this point, based on recent history, I expect us to have injury troubles again next season. There's something wrong with the way this team trains or prepares themselves in conditioning/practice. Can't just chalk it up to bad luck every year.

That better not be our lineup next year, or we can gear up for another first round exit.

    Babcock - Jack Adams Finalist

Roy should win. Colorado has been crap for awhile, and it looks like he's turned around a good young team with a bright future.

    Now some gritty forwards.

    Nah. Chara is 6'6

    Now some gritty forwards.

Because he's a Euro, he's already 3 inches shorter than actual height. So, he's actually 5'10. To be 6'1, he'd have to actually be 6'4. No, I'm not drunk.

    Now some gritty forwards.

We definitely need some size and grit to balance out our lineup and compete with bigger teams. However, what has Kenny Holland ever done in free agency to make you think he'd sign a big, gritty forward?

Holland Holding on to Jeff Blashill

LOL. I could have won Gold with Canada.

scenario: if McLellan gets fired, bring him back as PP coach ?

It started to suck because Lidstrom and Homer were past their primes during their final season in Detroit. Rafalski was already gone from what I remember. Homer's drop off occurred a few years before that. That's what Renney walked into and what McLelland never had to deal with.

scenario: if McLellan gets fired, bring him back as PP coach ?

People blaming Renney need to remember that he didn't build this s*** team. Holland and Babcock are more responsible for it than him. I remember people here always blaming McCrimmon when the defense struggled and everyone wanted him fired. It's silly blaming Renney, imo. The assistants coaches are just that...... assistant coaches. Mclelland had a prime Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Franzen, Lidstrom, Rafalski and Holmstrom. Probably a few others I've missed. I won't give him credit for the Wings having a good powerplay. Renney would be just as good with that powerplay.

    Tortorella To Be Fired

His problem always has been that he puts himself and his antics before the team. If he could keep his mouth shut, he wouldn't be such a distraction to everyone in the organization. I don't know why anyone would hire him. Just because he fluked to a Stanley Cup with Tampa in 2004? Look what he's done since then. I wouldn't risk signing this guy if I'm GM. He's too much of a distraction.

WCQF - Series H - San Jose versus Los Angeles

And three years ago, there were two instances (Detroit and Chicago) where a team down 3-0 almost came back. I'm starting to think there's a recent trend in the NHL now where a 3-0 lead is no big deal. This series wasn't even close in the end. LA outscored San Hosay something like 18-5 in the last four games. Total domination and blowouts. You wonder how the series could have ever been close before that.

Wings will buy out Tootoo, not Franzen.

Because of Franzen's laziness, posters here have taken to name calling. Thanks Kenny.

Can we buy out Holland instead?

Red Wings expect changes for 2014 - 2015

Yeah, I just noticed that. I put Weiss in, but that still looks bad. Shows you how limited our talent pool is. You think real #2 center is pushing it?

Red Wings expect changes for 2014 - 2015

Yeah, we could use some size and grit. Then again, we could use a lot of things. The lineup I posted above is what we realistically need to be a contender again.

Red Wings expect changes for 2014 - 2015

I like my Euros really soft. I want Trevor Gillies on this team. He can use McGrattan as his bigger, tougher backup. Anyway, here's my lineup. Whoops, forgot Nyquist. Zetterberg - Datsyuk - real top line winger good winger - Weiss - Nyquist Abdelkader - Helm - Tatar McGrattan - Sheahan - Jurco Kronwall - real #1 defenseman Smith - Ericsson Dekeyser - Sproul Good playoff goalie Howard

    Ken Holland Quotes (Apr 29th

Paying a guy that kind of money to play on the 4th line isn't sensible (unless it's the 2002 Wings)

    NHL lacks class.

    We need a protector

    Ken Holland Quotes (Apr 29th

If he did plan on buying Franzen out, would he have said so? Or would he just say, "I can't comment on anything right now?"

WCQF - Series H - San Jose versus Los Angeles

Outscored 13-4 in the last three games. Insane. At least when Detroit came back against San Jose, those were close games in a close series. LA is just dominating right now.
