I would take down the Hockeytown logo from center ice until the team becomes a contender again. Right now, their goal seems to be just continuing the playoff streak. The streak wasn't just about making the playoffs, it was about being a contender every year. Mediocrity and Hockeytown shouldn't go together.

I'm not surprised. McPhee was a great fighter, but not a good GM. The team never did well in the playoffs and could barely get past the second round. Oates was the coach on the first team to miss the playoffs in a long time for Washington. I think they missed their window of opportunity to win a Cup. It'll be interesting to see what Washington will build around Ovechkin.

The Flyers went to the Finals with Laviolette. They fired him because sometimes a change is needed to spark the team or bring in a new philosophy once the players tune out. You really think Berube is a better coach than him or that the Flyers feel that way? I doubt it. It was just time to make a change. I'd have no problem with Kenny going to Tottenham. They could use some overripe youngsters. Holland deserves way more blame than Babcock, but Babcock shouldn't be blameless. He sticks to bizarre line combos that don't work and over relies on Glendenning in a key situation when he shouldn't. You can't tell me that all these bad personnel moves we've made over the years totally went over Babcock's head. He has to be responsible also for these moves. I refuse to believe that Holland leaves Babcock in the dark whenever he brings in a Cleary or trades a Quincey for a first rounder.

LOL. Yeah, I'm the only one here who thinks a change would benefit both sides. Just posting my opinion, like everyone else. I just know this team is slowly getting worse every year under he and Holland. Of course we could only regress after being first every year, but we can't seem to stop the decline.

Peter Laviolette is a coach who has been to two Finals with two different teams and won a Cup. He is looking for a fresh start. He will command respect from his players because of his background. Time for a fresh change. For Babcock too. He should go to a Cup contender that's looking to get over the hurdle.

A prime Bertuzzi and Alfredsson would be good. Our defense would still suck balls, though.

For some reason, teams like Dallas and Columbus are doing pretty good against the higher seeds. We don't have less talent than those squads. We just don't have a team that believes in its coach and the attitude in the organization isn't correct.
