It's just one game, but it would be amazing for an 8 seed to beat a President's Trophy winner, when their best player isn't even in the lineup during the series. -

Point is, this defense has been garbage all year. They've played well so far much to my surprise. Don't know how long that can hold out. That's why we need to take advantage of this unusually good spell of defending. -

I feel like this is as well as we can play defensively. Yet, we're still not winning the game. Needed to bury those two good chances during that stretch. Datsyuk and Franzen of all people. -

We couldn't poke an SM-liiga team with our level of toughness.

Not unless Franzen channels his 2008-2009 form. We're probably more likely to see Bertuzzi channel his 2003 form.

What's the logic for the Wings winning again? Team speed? Not a bad thing to have, but I don't think it's enough. Winning game 1 doesn't mean we take the series. Winning four games means we take the series. I don't see us winning four games. And Jimmy hasn't played well in the playoffs until last season. You make it sound like he's some perennial playoff stud.

Get rid of shootouts. 5 on 5 OT (if there's no winner, each team gets a point. Zero points for an OT loss). Basically, go back to the system pre 1999-2000

Bruins in 5. Boston remembers how they barely got past Toronto last year. They'd be stupid to make the same mistake. The Wings have too many defensive problems.

Nobody really. I'd love to see Pittsburgh lose. I hate both Chicago and St. Louis, so it's a shame they can't both lose. But if I root for another team, it's only because I don't want someone else to win. Not because I actually like that team I'm rooting for. The last time I rooted for another team in and of itself was Anaheim in 2003. They had a lot of vets who'd never won the Cup, were a feelgood story, and I actually like Kariya in those days.

I've also had the same experience. Nothing worse than a fanbase that acts like their team has actually won something in its 45+ year history, when in reality, it hasn't won squat. They'd probably lose to Chicago even if they were healthy. Only difference is, their injuries made them drop in the standings in order to play Chicago instead of Minnesota or Dallas. But still, the Blues are not a team that gets it done in the playoffs.

St. Louis has lost in the early rounds the last two years in a row. Looks like three years this season, because I don't see them beating Chicago. They're becoming a team that's only good for the regular season.
