That just proves it even further. Schedule is irrelevant. Calgary had nothing to play for and Jersey had everything to play for.

At this point they do. Too bad the season is 82 games and not 78.

We have to win two more games.

Pretty much. These are going to be the forward lines the rest of the year. Zetterberg and Weiss (who?) don't appear to be returning. Bertuzzi and Cleary aren't likely to see the lineup.

We damn well better, or we can look back at all those shootout losses and that last minute collapse against New Jersey about a month back. At this point, we're the favorites to get in, but anything can happen. Also, schedule doesn't matter. In every sport, we see teams with nothing to play for beating teams with everything to play for late in the year.

As we've found out this year, our players in the minors have been held back too long. If not for injuries, guys like Sheahan and Jurco would have been in GR all year, while Bertuzzi, Sammy and Cleary would be playing. Holland doesn't have a clue. I wouldn't be surprised if one of our young D-men in the minors is better than some of the garbage playing on the top squad.

Seems like only a few years ago when we led the league in this category. We have too many defensive defensemen, and they're not even good defensively. Kronwall is the only offensive minded defenseman we have.

We have fast forwards, but we likely have the slowest, most unathletic defensive corps in the league. You need your D to skate in today's NHL. Our D skates like they have cement in their skates.

Give them the same treatment Henry VIII would when it comes to reasoning and patience. -
Philly has less points than us, yet they're ahead in the standings. This system is not very good. Go back to having top 8 teams in the Conference. If there's not enough cities in the Mountain time zone with NHL teams, so be it.

Except, against Boston it was in the 3rd period. If you're only going to play 20 minutes, make sure that's the period you pick to try.

Leino will tie it up, and then John Scott will score on a breakaway as time expires. Wings miss the playoffs by one point.
