I want to watch a fat guy in a Maltby jersey on the powerplay instead. -

Cleary is the guy Pink Floyd wrote all their songs about. "Hello. Is there anybody in there?" -

Cleary actually has comedy value. Remind me again why Bertuzzi (who once murdered a man) is still playing for this team? -

Sounds like a movie title. Tom Hanks will play the lead. -

That's what I thought. I heard a whistle too. -

Great shot. Wish we saw more of that from Eaves. -

I agree. Where's Robert Lang when you need him? -

Hey, if not for Dan Cleary, I wouldn't even be watching this game. -

Gustavsson is like those backup quarterbacks who only play well when the starter gets benched. Then when they become the starter, they suck balls. -

Game over. When do we start playing s***ty teams again like ourselves? -

It'd be fitting if Cleary slid over to center and Sammy was the other wing on that line. Put all the garbage in one basket, so to speak. -

Terrible defending. Hossa was wide open in front of the net. -
BTW, did anyone else think this thread would be about dating advice?

What's a right handed d-man? Is that allowed in the NHL?

Alfie has one or two years left in the league. He did move his family, but at this point, he has to decide whether he wants to play for a mediocre team, or go to a serious Cup contender. If you think this team is a serious Cup contender next year, you're seeing things I'm not. We'll be better and hopefully younger/faster, but not ready to challenge for a Cup. Still can't believe Yzerman fleeced that dope Holland for a first round pick in that deal. Did any Wings fan actually get excited when they heard what the pricetag was? We'll be lucky to get a 2nd round pick for Quincey at this point.

There's nothing wrong with making a move at any point in the season, regardless of standings. That's what good GM's do when the right deal comes along. With that said, I'd think about moving Alfie for sure. We're not a Cup team even when healthy, and he's shown he can still play at a high level. I don't see why he'd mind moving to a "real" Cup contender, and I can see teams wanting him for a Cup run. Franzen is another one I'd think about moving. His health is an issue and he's 34 years old. His goal scoring the last two years is below average. Also, it's not like his health and work ethic will get better in the next few years. He's past his peak. As you said, the others don't have much value. I wouldn't touch the young players, because you only trade those if you want to line up for a Cup run. We're not in a position to do that, so we may as well keep our future assets. I know this sounds like giving up on the season, but this season is a lost cause. We went into it thinking this team could improve on last season's 2nd round exit, and right now, that would be a good result, even if we became healthy. I like the young players we've developed in the minors, and I think we should stock up on more picks by getting rid of the only vets we have with value. Obviously, Hank, Kronwall, Datsyuk and Ericsson (did I just say that?) are untouchable. Forgot about Kindl and Smith. I'd actually keep them for now. Our prospects are mostly forwards, so even though those two players are underwhelming, they give us depth. You have to figure Quincey is gone next season, so another spot will open up.

If you remember Lidstrom's final season, that's what it will feel like.

That 1986 team also had 10 guys who hit 100+ PIM's. Kocur led that group with 377 PIM. Has to be one of the most entertaining bad teams in history.

Don't remember.

Yep. He's like 35 and an underachiever, so he'd fit in perfectly.

Bring in my boy Oleg Kvasha.

Did he go to Taco Bell after the 1st intermission?

Not looking forward to seeing us against the Hawks powerplay. Could get ugly.
