His numbers that year were poor offensively. And he wasn't exactly known for his physicality defensively. I'm not sure if there was a contract situation involved there on top of that. In any case, from what I remember, Markov was the last Russian defenseman to suit up for the Wings.

The only team I could put together was the rest of Europe. Fedorov, Datsyuk, Bure, Lidstrom, Lilja and Hasek.

Datsyuk has been better for many years, but this season, Zetterberg has been better and more important. Just seems that way. Maybe it's because Datsyuk has been stuck with Bertuzzi, Abby or Cleary for more games. Or maybe not.

The US picked a lot of large, bruising forwards, but that team seems too slow for Olympic hockey on a large, international rink. Talking about guys like Wheeler, Backes and Carlson. -

He is this season. Your logic is poor. You're using a player's form two years ago to make excuses for his current play. Two years makes a big difference in sports. LOL. Phaneuf gets the award over Bernier, who was their best player. -

Howard is the worst shootout goalie in the league. Played well in the game, but was pathetic in the shootout spreading his legs for the shooters. -
