There were too many games, especially last season, where he looked completely invisible. Not as bad as Weiss has this year, but still invisible nonetheless. Too easy to knock off pucks. I never thought of him as a guy that brought it ever game. And he's not in the same league as Datsyuk or Zetterberg, although I doubt that's what you meant with your statement. Perhaps you could clarify what you meant. And he didn't run Lecavalier out of town. Vinny had better numbers last year than Flip and is the franchise's best ever player. You really think Filppula runs a guy like that out of town? I suppose Johan Franzen ran Shanahan out of town back in 2006?

Anyone know what my boy Ladislav Kohn has been up to lately? I didn't want either player. Filppula was bad last year, which is why they didn't bring him back. I didn't want Weiss because he was another small, left-handed centerman in his 30's, and coming off some injuries and a bad season. Upon reading this last sentence I wrote, I understand exactly why Holland got him.

As others have pointed out, this team suffers from an identity crisis. They don't do puck possession well anymore and they don't have the physicality or size to play a dump and chase, grind it out style. When you have that lack of identity, you'll have some games where the team just looks lost.

Don't think anyone would take Weiss right now. Also, if I'm not mistaken, Vanek has a pretty big cap hit that we can't afford.

I'm guessing every goalie in soccer has a better record on penalties this year than Howard. Guy can't stop a beach ball and our shooters look like AHL shooters going up against NHL goalies.

Dude, the guy is 40 and always hurt now. He shouldn't even be on this team, because he makes us slower and older. That 1.5 million could go to a younger, hungrier forward in GR. We have enough mentors already.
