I don't agree with that. As I stated earlier, Holland hasn't been afraid to bench Hall of Fame goalies in the last decade, regardless of what they were paid. Remember Cujo being sent down? Hasek wasn't given any immunity in Detroit either.

He hasn't been terrible tonight, but he's been outplayed easily this season by Gustavsson. I expect Howard to be the backup if this continues the rest of the season. We've benched better goalies than him over the last 10 years.

Looks like the Flyers physicality eventually took its toll. The Wings have been outhustled since the 3rd began. Would have helped if the powerplay could score, but it sucked in the 2nd.

Weiss and Quincey taking dumb penalties which cost us goals. Pretty much summarizes their season so far.

If we had McGrattan instead of Cleary, we'd still be winning and the Flyers wouldn't be messing with us. And we'd have more cap space.

This is interesting. I want to see how the Wings respond to the rough stuff. Although with Howard's idiocy, it's a one-goal game again, so maybe the Flyers will hesitate to go into full goon mode.

Amazing what speed can do. Helm, Nyquist and Tatar have made this a much harder team to play against. That's why they're winning games all of a sudden. Playing against an old, slow team that doesn't forecheck is easy for any opponent.

John Erskine has scored as many points the last few seasons as Quincey. Erskine didn't get traded for a top pick. Quincey has become nothing more than a 3rd pairing jobber, and one that doesn't fight or intimidate people to boot. Smith can still save himself, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him gone next season. He was supposed to be our top prospect a few years ago. Very disappointing so far. -
Why do I have to penetrate someone? Their stats are similarly putrid, and Cleary actually has a better plus/minus. Of course Weiss is/should be a a better player at this point in his career, but it hasn't showed at all this year. Stats aren't everything, but in this case, they are. Weiss and Cleary were brought in to contribute, and they've both sucked equally.
