Quincey is brutal in general. His offensive numbers are a joke that Rory Fitzpatrick would find funny. His defense isn't good enough or consistent enough to make up for those lack of numbers.

This was a .500 team last season. This looks like a .500 team this season.

Should have stayed in Ottawa, instead of thinking he could win a Cup with this aging, slow roster. Then again, he probably figured Sammy would be traded and Cleary would be in Dante's Hell somewhere.

I didn't watch tonight's game, but Kindl played well last season, unlike the year before. Miller is expendable. Every 4th liner is expendable, unless he's a Kris Draper.

Kindl maybe? Is the thread about which whipping boy is actually not bad? I think those guys are all expendable (guys like Cleary, Sammy, Smith, etc). Or are we talking about solid players who are often forgotten? In that case, I'd pick Kindl. And Drew Miller may lead the team in shorthanded minutes every year, but our PK isn't that good the last few years. Not like the guy is the second coming of Mike Keane or Guy Carbonneau. We could replace him with any 4th liner who kills penalties.

Filppula regressed last season, and Weiss was a bad signing. Don't see how it matters which guy is better than the other. The Wings clearly need a legitimate second line center again next year, if Weiss continues to suck.

Emery beat Josh Gratton in a fight, and had a good fight with Andrew Peters, after he already had a fight moments earlier with Martin Biron. So he has fought "real" tough guys before.

I know people here will disagree with me, but if I played for the Caps, I would have done what McSorley did to Brashear, and used Emery's head for a baseball. Can't just stand around and watch your teammate get mugged.

That part is pretty obvious, especially on the blue line. Hard to play puck possession when you replace Listrom and Rafalski with guys like Quincey and Lashoff.

Did you read what Cleary wrote on twitter? "@DanSmytheCleary71: That was a tough loss tonight. I will play better in the playoffs."

I blame HBO for all of this. The distractions from the cameras following them all the time, are preventing players like Cleary and Weiss from performing properly.
