Someone should inform the NHL that Columbus Day is not an off day for most businesses in America. It's a federal holiday, and the government is on shutdown. I swear, this league is so dumb.

The problem is, we still need a real winger who can score goals. You trade Franzen, and you're stuck with not only Abby on the top 6, but also a Cleary. We need a legit top 6 winger who can score. Franzen is too inconsistent for that. To me, that's our number one priority. Even above getting a top defenseman.

I like Kassian, but he's not a guy you'd bring in to score lots of goals. Edler (or anybody) is better than Smith, though.

Great win. Putting Bertuzzi on the top line instead of Abby seemed to work perfectly. He actually has skill and is used to playing with top level players. Also, putting Smith in the pressbox was a no-brainer. Defense still struggled in giving up too many shots, but there weren't the amount of boneheaded plays that he makes. Sucked seeing no-one come to Tootoo's defense while he was slashed and crosschecked while laying on the ice. He's truly the only non-***** on the roster.

The Reebok jerseys suck in general. Too many teams have added stupid horizontal stripes to their jerseys, and the Wings had to switch the "c" to the wrong side. Also, the Dallas Stars are unable to go back to their original jerseys, so they keep failing miserably to design new ones.
