ECF - (4) Boston Bruins vs. (1) Pittsburgh Penguins

Chara is just a big goof. He's not really a great fighter. I'd pay a month's salary to see him or Crosby fight anyone decent. -
WCF : (5) Los Angeles Kings vs. (1) Chicago Blackhawks

Kings suck. To think we were one good OT shot away from playing this team. Then again, they are a very good home team in these playoffs, but this is putting too much pressure on themselves to win every home game. -
Germany has a lot of good keepers. He's trying to become the 3rd, but didn't look good today.
-
I'll admit, I've used that line before. Then again, I don't want us to become like Montreal fans, who can use that until eternity, but haven't won squat in a long time.
-
They're playing their C team, but those guys will play hard, trying to prove themselves and maybe earn a spot in Germany's future. Will be a good game, hopefully.
-
I would hate to see Chicago, Pittsburgh or Boston win it. Does that answer the question?

How many of the younger fans were around back when Probert and Kocur played for the Wings? I never saw those players playing together for Detroit. Only in youtube fight videos. I have to go out of my way for that stuff, since the Wings haven't been dressing many enforcers over the years. Clarkson isn't a "true" enforcer either, but there's a big difference between him and a guy like Bickell, who has maybe one fight per season.
-
Pretty much. You have to remember, that Wings fans have a different definition of who is or isn't a fighter, enforcer or heavyweight. Bickell has only had a handful of fights the last several years. He plays a physical and chippy game, but mostly against teams like the Wings. He wouldn't do s*** against a team like Boston or Toronto, because he knows he'd have to answer for it.
-
LOL. That's worse than this year's team.
-
I guess an old washed up big man like Bertuzzi is about the only thing I can remember. But I wouldn't think of him as a big, bruising player by the time he came to Detroit (either time).
-
Damn! That means we were so close to getting him back. He would have helped many of our problems (Smith) moving forward in the playoffs.

Datsyuk: I want to sign extension with Wings this summer
GMRwings1983 replied to Jedi's topic in General
He can, but Nyquist had the much fresher legs as this series went on. Makes me wonder how much our older players would have had in the tank if we advanced. -
I wouldn't mind having a Bickell type player, but Holland doesn't seem to like players like that, based on the free agent signings we usually make. There's been Grier/Clarkson/Winchester/Neil, etc. talk on here, as long as I can remember.
-
Funny how useless Holland's signings last season all turned out. Now we're talking about buying all those players out.
-
Why not? No trade clause? He might want a new beginning as well.
-
Do teams typically buy out 5 or 6 players in the offseason? Seems like a lot.
-
So is Pulkinnen expected to join the team next year? I would think Jarnkrok and Ferraro aren't as of yet.
-
Buying him out doesn't make much sense. Trading him does. Now, if we can only find a partner with something to offer.
-
Yeah, like I said last night, that's where I miss Draper and Helm. If your top players are being used as shut down men, they're not going to have as much gas left on the offensive side of the ice.
-
Remember the movie Sudden Death? Hawks and Pens in the final.
-
I hope he's back. What's the deal with Pulkinnen? Seems like he has good upside, and he's also a right handed shot like Brunner. Is he close to playing for the Wings? We need more right handed shots.
-
Kenny Holland also said this morning that Johan Franzen suffered a coma back in 2011. Props to that guy for still playing.
-
Bruins must have lost their minds.
-
I think he needs a change of scenery, for both him and the Wings.
-
I don't care either. Pre 2005 lockout, I watched all the playoffs religiously. Now, I can care less. I may flip the channels from time to time. Hardly watched the Finals at all last year.
