Didn't even think about that. Will the NHL be dick enough to not air the Wings game if this game goes to OT? Meaning even online streams won't work, since they'll air this Leafs game. I'm afraid this is a rhetorical question that I know the answer to. -

Sammy gets to play center, yet I never got to see that Downey/Lilja/McCarty line I was begging for in 2008. Come on Babcock. I think Babcock is just grasping at straws. Fact is, our 4th line has been awful in this series, while Anaheim's 4th line has been incredible. He's trying to give us a boost with this line. We'll see if it works. -

Can we trade him for a first round pick? He's better than Kyle Quincey.

He is a playmaker at this point. We need a big, scoring winger to play with him. It would raise both of their numbers in both goals and assists. But those players are hard to find.

If the Capitals and Bruins close out tomorrow, the NHL will dodge a bullet with the crappy scheduling they created of having those teams potentially play games 6 and 7 back to back. What idiot thought of that setup? Meanwhile, the Wings and Ducks have had no more than one day of rest at any point in this series. It seems unfair since these teams have travelled so much in this series. If Anaheim wins the series, they'll at least have the luxury of staying home for game one. -
Meh. Bleacherreport is a fun read, but many of their writers don't know s*** about NHL history. I once read a "greatest enforcer" article on there that made me fall out of my chair because of its idiocy. I like Zetterberg, but he never had one of the "filthiest slapshots in NHL history". But in general, I agree with you that his shot used to be much more potent and dangerous than it is now. But that's why a player's prime is usually in their mid to late 20's, and not mid 30's.

The poster before you said Tuesday. I'm inclined to agree with him, but you may be right. I know the NBA will often start a series in round 2, while there's still a game seven to be played in another series in round 1. But that only happens if its in a different conference. Not sure they do the same in the NHL. -
Zetterberg had one season where he scored almost 50 goals, but I don't remember anyone rating his slapshot up there with Weber or Chara. He scored many of his goals by going to areas in front of the net and having a knack for being in the right place.

Any idea when Round 2 would start, providing we win this game? I'm guessing Tuesday, but wasn't sure. -
Holmstrom is the only linemate I can remember playing with them an extended period of time. And that worked out. They've tried other people here and there, but only for a game or so.

I think any player who plays with Datsyuk and Zetterberg is going to play above his weight and score some points. Early in the season, our two big guns weren't playing together. But yes, Abby has played much better, linemates and all.

Is Smith more deserving to play game 7 than Ian White? I say not. White has his issues, but Smith is a train wreck right now. -

We actually have a tougher team than Anaheim fighting wise. Bertuzzi, Ericsson, Smith and Abdelkader are better than the four best fighters Anaheim can ice. Too bad this game went to OT, cause I'd love to see Getzlaf and Perry get beat down if it stayed 3-1 in regulation late. -
