Happy we're winning. Still upset Columbus is winning too. Had a feeling that team wouldn't go away and we'd have to take all 4 games this week. I hope the refs screw the s*** out of them next game. No one wants to see their s***ty franchise and their non-existant fanbase in the playoffs.

The Race for Eight: Blue Jackets, Stars, Wings

No, baseball is not a sport. -
Rebuilding? What about NHL parity? There is no rebuilding anymore. It's just an excuse for not being a good team.
-
Like many sports, in hockey size has always been considered important. Good to see St. Louis prove that a smaller guy can be a very effective NHL player, especially in this era where players are bigger and stronger than they used to be.
-
Once again, happy to hear we won. I hope Columbus chokes on a c*** today, and half their team tears their ACL's.
-
You think they'll actually win the Final this time? Or join Buffalo Bills territory?
-
That's where I hope the NHL steps in and screws Columbus, while putting us in the playoffs. Ratings, baby. Ratings! And no, I don't care if we get in "unfairly"
-
Sucks that MInnesota won. Now it's 3 teams chasing for one spot, instead of two spots. I wasn't really concerned about Dallas, since they had to beat us anyway. It's Columbus that worries me, since they seem unable to give up any points. Late in games, they score whenever they need it.

Why not Der Kaiser, kind of like Beckenbauer?

Glad to hear we won. Keep up the good work Wings

Putting Hank's goal scoring problems into perspective.

I am. Brian Burke would have gotten to the wife somehow. -
Tie Domi was listed as 5'10 and 5'11 from what I believe, and there was no way he was taller than 5'8. I think teams sometimes embellish weight too.
-
Doesn't the NHL want a Wings/Blackhawks matchup in their last year in the same Conference? Two original 6 teams with BIG ratings, to meet in the playoffs. Please rig this s***, Gary.
-
Stuart played well for us during those Finals runs, but he did screw us in that game 7. He was responsible for both goals the Pens scored. It's impossible for me to forget that, being the most disappointing loss I've ever seen the Wings take.
-
And it's pathetic that a former Cup winner with his experience is struggling under pressure late in games, while teams like Dallas and Columbus are playing with poise and clutch.
-
I hate being right, but like I wrote earlier today, Columbus and Dallas are playing clutch in the most important parts of the game. 3rd periods and OT. What are the Wings doing during those moments? Hitting shinpads. That's the difference.
-
I castigated Holland for letting Quincey go, and keeping Meech and Lebda instead. At the same time, I thought trading him for a 1st was crazy. So did you if I'm not mistaken?
-
I agree. Columbus looks like they're having fun, and don't have Nash and Mason to worry about anymore. They look more relaxed in their games than we do. There's just more pressure on the Wings.
-
Last year, our defense lead the league in goals. I know we don't have Lidstrom, but it wasn't just him. Others chipped in. This year, our defense hasn't been able to contribute offensively. Quincey and Smith have 1 freaking goal between them!
-
But, but, I thought Holland didn't want to overpay for players?
-
It's amazing how unclutch we are in 3rd periods, OT and shootouts, considering we have so much leadership and Stanley Cup experience. I know we have lots of young players, but we should still have enough veterans to be more poised than Columbus and Dallas right now. Instead, those teams have more poise than us late in games. Amazing.

Which things from the past (not just Wings related) do you miss most?

Pictures or it didn't happen. -
Brilliant. We may as well close the entire forums, since none of us have ever been NHL goalies, forwards, defenseman, GM's or coaches. From now on, no more criticism guys.
