How come so many NHL teams have goalies in the minors no one has heard of, who can instantly come into the lineup and hold their own? We see that every year from several teams. Yet, this team has McCollum to fall back on from the AHL. Figures. The Wings need to do a better job developing goalies in their farm system. Then we don't have to scramble for s***ty or injured backups every year.

He's indeed been great in the playoffs. But to make that statement, you should look at PPG, rather than overall playoff points. Detroit has probably had more playoff games than any other team since the lockout. With that said, I would rank him the best playoff performer since the lockout in the NHL.

Why didn't you look at 2011 and 2012 stats? PPG I mean? Is it because Crosby has become even better when healthy, while Ovie's numbers have decreased?

If Crosby plays a full season, he puts up much higher numbers than all those guys. He was on a feverish pace a few years ago before his injury. There is nobody better than him when healthy. As for the topic, I'm not sure I'd put Hank on the top five Swedes of all time at this point in his career. And there are many 32 year olds better than him in the NHL currently. Maybe Gretzky was just being nice.

But they need to realign conferences now. Expansion would take at least several years before those markets can even exist.

No way. Semin has the fastest hands since Craig Berube. He would light Franzen up.

I doubt fans at the JLA care whether the fight was staged or not. They've been waiting for a fighter for like 3 years now. BTW, I would cream myself if Franzen had an opening faceoff fight.

They try to stop fights quickly when someone's jersey goes over their head. For player safety I guess.

He's struggling at getting pucks through screens on the powerplay. Lidstrom was a master at that. Not having that has really hurt this powerplay.

Next time we play St Louis, Jackman will have it coming.
