Someone should go over there and punch that fat idiot Polak in the face. He fired that slapshot after the whistle blew. -

Don't knock on Holland's "big" acquisition of a season ago. -

Was that the great Kyle Quincey who blew that? -
Their travel schedule will be brutal with this shortened season.

And 200 PIM

I hope these next few games don't go to a shootout.

Benn for Kindl, McCollum and future considerations.

Pretty sure the team needs to buy a new brand of jockstraps for everyone.

At the 2:20 mark, Franzen gets tough.

GM Ken Holland says Red Wings might not make playoffs this year
GMRwings1983 replied to Hockey13Playa's topic in General
If we miss the playoffs................... -
I always wanted to have an Erskine type player here. A guy who regularly dressed on defense for the Capitals, and was an enforcer to boot. Sheldon Brookbank is another such player. These types of bottom pairing D-men clear the crease, stick up for teammates, and are tough to play against in a playoff series. And they're bone-fide tough guys/enforcers. Also, these kinds of players don't cost a lot of money.

This is nuts.

GM Ken Holland says Red Wings might not make playoffs this year

I don't see Babcock getting fired, but Holland probably will if that happens. He just hasn't given Babcock enough to work with the last couple of seasons. There's only so much a coach can do with an old team that won't forecheck or score goals in the playoffs. Holland tried to make moves last offseason, but came up woefully short. He'll pay the price if the Wings fail. -
Actually, I misstated myself. Looks like reactions were mixed in the thread. I've linked it below. Many people did think Kronwall could be #1, but they obviously didn't think he could fill Lidstrom's shoes. I don't know if anyone could. He's the toughest #1 to replace around the league. Here's the thread: http://www.letsgowings.com/forums/topic/69705-kronwalls-new-role/?hl=kronwall

Nevermind. I linked the thread below that I wanted to refer to.

Because we have less room for a forward on the roster. Besides, it's not like it's unusual to see a defenseman fighting a lot. Happens all the time.

Jeremy Roenick's book and the introduction is AMAZING

Nothing says we would have won the Cup with him. We needed Hasek, however. -
I agree. We should get another fighter, preferably on defense.

The OP can see into the future and is telling us what he sees. Ericsson will win the Norris this season.

Never thought I'd say this, but the Blues can make a run for the Cup this year. Look at the last few Cup winners. Chicago 2010 Boston 2011 Los Angeles 2012 All those franchises have been around for a while, and either never won the Cup (like LA), or had gone four or five decades without winning one. That pattern could fit the Blues. And I don't see either Philly or Toronto making a Cup run this year. And yes, Vancouver also could fit that pattern.

So why would Florida get rid of him?
