    Knuble works harder than Bertuzzi.

But, but.......... I thought Downey and McCarty weren't important to our roster in 2008, as has been debated to death on this forum.

Bleacher Report Top 100 Power Rankings

Bleacher report is fun to read while at work, but their lists have always provided nothing but entertainment. If you're looking for substantive rankings, they're very rare on that site.

Well, older players are more likely to take longer to recover from injuries.

That's what happens when you sign old men to contracts for a shortened season. We have to keep our fingers crossed all year with injuries.

    Soccer!

The top team in the German league is Bayern Munich. They would run laps around ManU, who have struggled this season against teams like Norwich City and Southampton. LOL. Bayern has only lost one game all season. Dortmund is the second best team in Germany and they schooled Man City (2nd best in EPL) in both games in the Champions League. Did you watch that display? Those City players looked totally lost. Next would be Schalke, who are struggling this year in Germany, but they outplayed Arsenal in the Champions League over those two games. I'd say Arsenal is probably the 4th or 5th best team in the EPL. Chelsea is 3rd best in the Premier League, and they couldn't even make it out of the group stage at Champions League this year. What makes you think they'd beat the 3rd best team in Germany? And teams like Tottenham and Liverpool haven't exactly been tearing up the European ranks lately, despite having more money than just about every team in Germany, Italy or Spain. The lower ranked teams in the EPL would do even worse, since they don't have the money and foreign stars that teams like ManU and Man City have. I'd rather watch the Premier League than Bundesliga, and it's a lot more accessible here in the US, but I do think their teams are slightly overrated and struggle head to head against comparable competition from top European leagues.

Like I'm giving those idiots any of my money. Nobody should pay it. Even if it was $5.99.

    Red Wings 2013 schedule

As tough as the Central Division was last season, it's going to be a grind getting into the playoffs. More games against the East would have helped.

    Training Camp

At first, I read "Sandy McCarthy" for Calgary. Surprised Kovalev is trying to return. He's been irrelevant the last couple of years, wherever he's been.

Well, I'm saying the way it is now, I'm confident the 3rd or 4th best teams in Spain or Germany could walk into Old Trafford or into Stamford Bridge, and soundly outplay the hosts on any given day. Naturally, if the top EPL teams were composed mostly of British players, they'd get killed even worse by those other squads. Don't get me wrong, it's a fun league to watch and the atmosphere is indeed epic, but the style of play is a little predictable at times. Constant long balls, crosses and headers. That stuff works in the EPL, but not in the Champions League (unless your'e lucky Chelsea) and certainly not in World Cup/Euros. Right now, ball possession and creativity are everything in football.

Looks like in 1995, game 4 of the SCF was played on June 24th. So that's about the same.

Johan Franzen - Once and For All

Look at what I wrote on the first page in this thread. Facts don't lie. It's been there the whole time. You should try actually reading your thread. You created this thread whining about something I haven't heard anyone here on LGW suggest (buying out Franzen), let alone enough people to justify starting a thread. Now you're saying that I'm one of the people who advocates that position, even though I stated in this very thread that I didn't? LOL. Maybe you're just trying to find someone to argue with. And for the love of Satan, learn how to respond to quotes properly.

Johan Franzen - Once and For All

You still didn't read it. On the first page, I said Holland should look at possibly trading Franzen. That's what I was referring to by "look at it". I also said he shouldn't buy him out. You're making this too hard for me.

NHL, NHLPA reach tentative agreement on new CBA

So five deadlines and five offseasons ago. Good job Kenny. The best Wings beatdown in recent memory. That and Lilja's pussification of Sheldon Souray's face.

I'd take Cavani or Falcao. Then again, Van Persie does have that connection with Holland. Premier League is good, but overrated based on how their top squads get soundly outplayed whenever they play other top teams around Europe. I try to watch all the leagues. However, it's kind of hard to get up early on Saturdays here in the USA to watch these games
