And we traded this freaking fool for a 1st rounder that turned into Vasilevskiy. Good thing we don't need a young Vezina candidate.

I'm not talking about the trades. I'm talking about the players on that list who many thought would be the future of the Wings. Players the team drafted and/or invested in. Guys like Smith, Pulkinnen, Jurco, etc. They just never materialized for the big club.

There's a flip side to that coin. Holland acquired many of these players and they were on the roster, only to be failures.

Yzerman was in his 14th season when he won his first Cup. Much like Ovechkin, he was the face of the franchise and got most of the blame when the team choked in the playoffs. There was even talk of trading him, like I've heard said about Ovechkin after the last few playoffs.

On this day 10 years ago (can't believe it's been that long), the Red Wings won their last Stanley Cup. Zetterberg scored the GWG in bizzarre fashion when Fleury sat on the puck. And who can forget the tense last few seconds of the game with that puck sliding across Osgood's crease? Here's to hoping it won't be the last one this century.

The Capitals best jersey was that blue jersey with the eagle on it. Not sure what I think of the Vegas jerseys. At least the color scheme is unique, I guess.

Holland wouldn't know a good goalie if one sat on his face. His only accomplishment in that area was getting Ilitch to open his deep pockets to Hasek and Cujo. Look at the crap the Wings have developed at that position with Mrazek, Coreau, and McCollum. And of course, there's Mr. Average himself, Jimmy Howard.

NBA players are wimps. These guys just had a week off in between series, even though neither team played more than 5 games in the second round. Now after two games in this series, they're getting an additional four days of rest in between games 2 and 3. Bunch of overpaid p**sies
