Cleary needs to be on the 4th line the rest of the season. Get Mursak up one line and stop playing him with two useless players.

Well, I guess the line combos didn't help us get more goals tonight. Where's blueadams when you need him?

Especially since the 2008 team won a President's trophy, while this team is sinking to a 6 seed.

Most of the players on the team have never played with this guy. Now someone is losing a roster spot over a player who's not even a true team player, who may not be back after the season. I know it's a business, but I bet there's a lot of angry players in the Nashville locker room.

I remember in 2008, I was afraid he'd be out a long time, but he only missed 6 games. For some reason I always thought it was longer. This year, I can't even remember the play in which he got injured, and yet it seems more and more likely that he won't be back for the playoffs.

Last year, if Dallas didn't choke on the final day, all 5 teams would have made the playoffs from that division (first time in league history that would have happened). This year, it's likely that 3 teams from that division make the playoffs. Yeah, there's no powerhouse team, but it's hardly a weak division. A weak division is where one team makes the playoffs and the other teams flat out suck.

Yeah, there's too many teams that will go after these players. If we have another early playoff exit and if Lidstrom retires, it'll be hard to convince anyone to come to an aging team that seems to be in transition. This isn't Hossa coming to the Wings in 2009 to win a Cup, just a season after Detroit won it all.

That better not be our freaking lineup. How about Babcock does some coaching and actually mixes the lines to get some magic going. That 4th line shouldn't play another shift together for the rest of eternity.

Why does Crosby have to be better defensively than Datsyuk in order to be considered the best player in the league? So if Crosby is on pace to finish say 40 points ahead of Datsyuk if they both played full seasons, people would still say Pavel is better because he's better defensively. I mean Gretzky and Lemieux weren't better two way players than Messier, but what idiot would say he was better than those guys? I just don't get that argument. Sure Pavel is a better two way player than Crosby, but so are many other players in the league. Being the best two-way forward doesn't necessarily make you the best player in the league if one guy is just that much better offensively.

Maybe they're tanking to help Yzerman succeed in Tampa.

It'd be funny if Doan gets suspended for that elbow when his team is chasing a playoff spot.

BTW, this is all Dan Cleary's fault.

Call up my boy McCollum! Then I can buy a new bottle of scotch and enjoy watching our first round matchup against Vancouver.

I said this yesterday, but look at the seasons Clarkson and Nystrom are having. We could have had either guy easily. Obviously, Holland felt his current bottom 6 is better. Wrong choice. Whenever we call up a guy from the minors to play in the bottom 6, it's usually a guy like Nyquist or Mursak, who are not really grinders and checkers. These players would be better suited for a more skilled place in the lineup. And players like Cleary and Holmstrom are not guys that can contribute to the top lines anymore. So we can't just plug them in when Datsyuk or Franzen get hurt. Then again, I thought we had some good defensive depth, but one injury to Lidstrom seems to have completely ruined our team defense. Everyone on the blueline looks like they're wearing clown shoes now.

This is nuts.

May as well try something different. On the bright side, we'd never have to see that godawful 4th line ever again.

That's how every game should start. From now on, fans won't ever be late to games.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that possibility.

I'd rather play Dallas in the first round then Nashville, Vancouver or St. Louis. That's what this team should play for the rest of the regular season.

He should have gotten that message the last two summers. It's too bad we let Yzerman go when he did. This offseason would have been a good time to push Holland out the door. But I guess Stevie couldn't wait that long.
