Stuart is really handcuffing the Wings here. We don't have many options that are seemingly good, and we can only trade him to 3 teams potentially. Others have correctly pointed out that trading him for a forward would weaken our defense for the playoffs. I was going to ask whether we can possibly trade him to a California team for a good D-man in return? That way we can still keep our defense looking good for this Cup run. But I doubt the Sharks are going to give us Vlasic, or that the Ducks will give us Fowler. In fact, as I said earlier, I don't see the Sharks and Wings dealing with each other at all.

I really miss the pre-salary cap era. 10 years ago, we'd be the frontrunners for an Iginla or Perry. Then in the offseason, we could have gotten Weber easily.

Rumor has it that Pittsburgh is looking to trade one of their better forwards.

Anaheim has plenty of assets they want to trade away. A Wings/Sharks trade makes no sense. We don't want to make them better or vice versa. If the price is right, we should definitely move him, or risk losing him in free agency for nothing.

Datsyuk and Lidstrom missed like the entire series, and it still didn't go beyond 5 games.

He almost won a Cup, since Anaheim won in 2007 and we won in 2008, and he played for those franchises in surrounding seasons.

When will the NHL stop televising these Caps/Pens games? Since Crosby has been brain-dead, these games have no luster or purpose. The league needs to get a clue.

Them and Florida are both surprises. I thought Ottawa would be the worst team in the league this season. On paper, their roster didn't look that good.

Who in the Detroit media or on this forum would object to Datsyuk being captain because his English isn't that good? For that matter, who on the team would be upset? They seem OK with Datsyuk wearing the "A" and he leads well by example. Where are these complaints stemming from?

Just checked him out. Looks like the only guy he fights is Sami Helenius. I guess there isn't much of a market for fighters in the FEL.

I don't think so. Although he does have a son playing somewhere. My point is their desire to get another French Canadian likely had something to do with this trade. As I stated, Cammalleri had a lot of big goals for them.

Camalleri has been awesome for them in the playoffs. Can't believe they traded him just to have a guy named Bourque.
