Pretty much. Canadians are upset because a 19 year old kid is excited that he scored goals against them in a big game? They were also upset that the Russians were celebrating during their 3 goal comeback in last year's Gold Medal game. How dare they celebrate? I'm just happy the other countries are getting better at this tournament. It's not just Canada winning every year now.

Pretty much. As others have pointed out, what is Franzen's upside for the future? He's already over 30 and has a history of injuries and laziness. I know he's great in the playoffs, but I no longer think he's untradeable.

Anyone see highlights from the Florida/New York game? I'll try to post a link to the video. Basically, Kopecky suckerpunched Del Zotto, and then he had to deal with an angry Mike Rupp. You can guess what happened next. Now I'm wondering if Kopecky will be suspended for that punch. Apparently Rupp didn't get the instigator. That would have resulted in a suspension from the Winter Classic if I'm not mistaken.

The Vezina trophies were mostly reputational wins (especially 2008), and I'm talking about his playoff performances in those years more than anything else. Without "the trap" and those three defensemen who left, he's been exposed in big games.

Perry and Lidstrom must be close, since they did a commercial together.

I've always wondered what Lidstrom played like during his early years. I can see that he had good numbers, but what was he like on the ice? Was he already smarter than most players out there? Did he have that "active" stick that he's perfected over the years? I can't imagine they expected a 7 time Norris winner when they drafted him, but they must have seen something they liked. Back then teams were still less likely to draft European players.

Definitely Fatso. He hasn't looked good since the lockout and since Stevens, Rafalski and Niedermayer left. You can also throw the trap in there, which made him look better than what he really was. He's been especially underwhelming in the playoffs since the lockout. I figured after last season's no-playoffs disaster, he'd retire, but he's still around.

Some Parros please. And why is Selanne untouchable? He's not the future of the team, and wouldn't he want to play for a team that may be a Cup contender during his final season? Why rot away in Anaheim on a s***ty team? I think he has a no-trade clause, but if so, he should waive it. Ryan would be the easiest to get of the skilled younger players. Perry and Getzlaf would demand a monster price.

What Sedin punching bag situation? And if you're talking about them not showing up for 4 games during the Finals, than that's something different. Certainly pathetic and you have to question their will to win, but that's talking about mental toughness, which isn't necessarily what this thread is about. -

By gutless, do you mean backing down from fights and not defending yourself when someone plays tough or dirty? We've done that several times. I remember the Philly game back in 2007, or in the playoffs against the Flames that year. Same s*** with the Ducks series, where they played dirty and we didn't really fight back because we didn't have the personnel. Which examples are you alluding to with Vancouver against Boston? -

I've never seen a team implode like this. It looks like Canada has been on a powerplay the whole period. The Russian team is playing like a bunch of scared chickens.

How much do you think the Canadians paid the refs to miss that takedown early in the period and the penalty shot which should have been called? Yet every Russian penalty has been caught. I don't mind since it's made the game interesting, but it seems pretty obvious.

Looks like the refs finally broke Russia's streak of penalty killing. Why are they playing that annoying Blackhawks goal song whenever Canada scores? Isn't this game in Calgary?
