Why do we always make this Blues powerplay look good, when they're last in the league otherwise?
-
That's true. It would wake up the crowd at the JLA also. Those people miss the tough teams the Wings had in the mid to late 90's.
-
I don't think anyone here has seriously advocated enforcers because it means we'll win that game. You have to remember that the Wings are last in FM every year. Doesn't give us a big sample to pull statistics from. With that said, I still think we should get McGrattan. I'd give back my kids' Christmas presents for him.

This team has won 4 Cups and hasn't missed the playoffs in 20 years, and you're still unhappy?

Don't sweat it. My popularity here is overrated, although I do agree with what I posted obviously. Abby plays hard, but he just hasn't cut it. Helm, Cleary, Miller, Connor and Holmstrom have outperformed him. Eaves hasn't played that much, but I'd still take him over Abby at this point. -

In other words, he's very expendable. I said last season (during his awful playoff) that we should get rid of him. He doesn't give us anything we don't already have. I'd rather see his roster spot taken by an enforcer. He's our worst bottom 6 forward right now. Doesn't score points, and doesn't fight for his teammates. Why is he on the team again? -
Is this a response to the "Howard > Vokoun" thread? I wasn't too keen on getting Jagr, but he seems to be a good fit in Philly. Then again, Leino was a good fit in Philly and wasn't on Detroit or Buffalo so far. Maybe it's just their makeup.

I'd sure like to know. -
Sure, by running away from Ryan Kesler. But it just doesn't look good for him and makes the team look bad. Kronwall shouldn't be afraid of Kesler.

Injuries are a part of the game. Kronwall is more likely to get injured when someone cheapshots him in retaliation than he would be in a fight against Kesler or a Havlat.

Good points by everyone. Although not as severe as the Lucic/Miller incident, the Wings looked just like the Sabres and probably need to be berated by their head coach the same way Buffalo was. Unfortunately, we have a pansy team when it comes to rough stuff, and neither Ericsson nor Abby were on the ice when that goal happened. They were probably afraid to go after Hansen later on because it was late in the 3rd period. However, I am surprised that Howard would come out and say this in the media. It sounds like he's disappointed with his teammates without actually saying it. -
I hate Kesler and his behavior, but I have nothing against him challenging Kronwall to back up his hit. It was a questionable hit and he did leave his feet somewhat. Kronwall shouldn't be afraid of obliging Kesler there. And don't compare him to Scott Stevens. Stevens had more than his share of fights throughout his career, especially in his prime. I don't expect or want Kronwall to drop his gloves a lot, but I don't want to see him skating away from Ryan Kesler either.

Our powerplay will pound all the faces.

What's Scott Parker up to these days?
-
Reminded me of Hextall there. What a nut!

My favorite Steve Ott moment.

This show is a joke for not covering Andreas Lilja. Guy has pulled more ***** than the rest of the team combined, yet he can't get one second of airtime. Nice going HBO. They'd rather cover that idiot Talbot apparently.
-
Scott rarely fights, but I don't think he's lost a fight yet in the NHL. He's a freaking monster. Only guys right now I see beating him are MacIntyre and McGrattan. And even they'd be giving up lots of size to him.
-
That's what I figured as well. Howard will play in the ASG this season. I guess they scrapped the system they had a season ago, where Staal and Lidstrom picked the teams. At least I haven't heard anything about it this time around.

I've never been to Montreal, but isn't hockey always on the front page news there?

I've told you this before, but I don't think Fillpulla belongs on that top list of untradeable players. He's the guy other teams would want the most that I can envision Holland thinking about trading. Holland won't trade Datsyuk, Zetterberg or Kronwall of course. However, for the right deal, Holland could move Flip, especially if it means increasing our chances of landing some big name for a Cup run. And there's also Stuart. He has a NTC, but he's talked about wanting to play close to California or something. If he's not going to be here long term, moving him would make sense. Maybe send him to Phoenix or Anaheim. I just don't think we can sit on our cap space at the deadline and act like there's no viable options whatsoever. I hope Holland is more creative than that. Oh and Kindl has played decent, but why can't he be moved? You make it sound like he's the frontrunner for the Calder trophy or something. He's not untouchable in my book. -
We couldn't beat Minny or San Jose this season at all, so I wouldn't be talking. A winning streak is a winning streak. This isn't college basketball you know.
-
Heatley has scored like 5 goals in his last 30 playoffs games or something. They have a no-name defense. They've never done squat in the playoffs. I don't think they're a threat to the top teams in the West. And it would be a disaster to the NHL if this boring ass team was a threat and somehow made the Finals.

Are you bipolar? You hate Hudler more than anyone around here, except for LefWinger. Now you're getting all excited because he's on a bit of a streak (where we're scoring 6 or 7 goals in seemingly every game). Well, then it's OK for him to be lazy at times and not compete. My bad. As for the Franzen argument someone brought up earlier, Franzen is a lot better than Hudler and more proven in the playoffs. He is a lazy floater, but trading him would be a bigger gamble than moving Hudler. It would have to be the right situation.
