Hell, this was way worse than when Laperriere hit Lidstrom, yet Downey stepped in there and beat his ass. That sparked the team and helped us get out of our losing streak. This was a cheap ass hit if I ever saw one, and so far I saw nothing from the Wings to fire them up. It's early in the game and there hasn't been much 5 on 5 since the hit, so I'll hold off until I see how our tougher players respond the rest of the way.

Tell that to every GM in the league over the last 40 years who's dressed an enforcer, including your boy Kenny Holland, who's dressed Downey and May in the past.

Pretty much. Our guys don't do s***, the powerplay (our enforcer) stinks, and now we get scored on. Apparently, the cheap hit fired up the Blues and tamed the Wings. How pathetic.

We do have Ericsson, Abby and Commodore dressed for this game. They're hardly "enforcers", but they should do something if this s*** continues.

Who? Ericsson and Commodore weren't on the ice and Brad Stuart doesn't know how to fight. Someone should run Jackman from behind in the same fashion.

The trap is bad for hockey, but so is the butterfly style of goaltending. Hockey was more fun back when goalies sucked in the 1980's, and scoring from long slapshots was much easier. So what? The trap is just a part of hockey evolution, and I don't see how they're going to make it go away. Are refs going to watch for how teams defend now and call penalties for only having one forechecker? Seems silly to me.

It's funny how everyone was criticizing Ottawa after that game, for letting their goalie fight two fights in a row, including one against an enforcer. Now, all the criticism is leveled at Buffalo for being a gutless team.

Yeah, Stuart is too much of a "teddy bear" for a 6'2 defenseman from Western Canada. He lays the occasional big hits, but doesn't do anything after the whistle.

You missed the part about the pick as well. Stuart could pull a draft pick. Parros could fit on our 4th line. We don't have Hall of Famers on that line last I checked.

Well, the Bruins bullied the Canucks into the Stanley Cup last year, so it seems to be working for them. They're just like Anaheim in 2007. You can win the Cup nowadays and be a team full of fighters. I just hate them because there's too many players on their team I despise, and I wish someone would pound Lucic and Chara's faces already. Unfortunately, neither of those guys fight heavies unless the moon is blue.

I like the physicality aspect, but we'd be screwed with that second line. We wouldn't be able to score goals at all. Hell, our top liners aren't scoring consistently anymore.
