I've never been keen on Hudler playing the point on a powerplay. I'd put Ericsson back there. He's got a bigger shot than Hudler and they paid him a boat load of money. Let's see how he looks on the point.

Any plan for re-alignment should also take into account Florida, Phoenix and New York's (Islanders) future. Maybe even Columbus. These franchises are in trouble now and could potentially relocate within the next several years. Look how quickly the Thrashers skipped town. Therefore, any potential re-alignment would have to be changed again.

Dude, it's the biggest Wings fight victory since Lija emasculated Boll. How can you downplay its importance? We may have to wait years to see that happen again.

If the Pens win the Cup this year, will you rescind that statement? I think MacIntyre's KO of Ivanans last year was more dominant. Simply because Ivanans has a rock hard chin that no one has ever cracked like that. It happened in game one and he missed the rest of the season. Beagle is not a great fighter and certainly not an enforcer, so this is not as big a surprise. If Abdelkader did the same thing to Perry, would you still say the gesture was over the top?

Good win against one of the best teams in the league. Vancouver doesn't look right at this point, but it's still something to shut them out. We gave up so many freaking goals last season with a good defense on paper.

What exactly does Draper do? "Special" assistant to Holland? How does that differ from just assistant? At least they're taking care of their former employees. I just never knew Holland was so needy that he required a "special" assistant.

Is handpicking our own refs for each game part of the concession? Also, the league must cut down on Holmstrom goalie interference calls. Only then will we stay west.

Well, they made the playoffs several years back with a not much better roster than this one. Of course, Mason basically carried them that year. Without him playing at that level, they're unable to overcome their other problems.

Me too. If they made the playoffs last year, it'd be the first time all 5 teams from the same division made it in. Of course, they lost to Minnesota on the last day, after we beat Chicago.

I read somewhere that Dallas needed to add some salary to avoid cap floor issues. Maybe they needed to go through some channels to pick him up the first time. I don't know. It's all a little confusing. In any case, what a sad situation Dallas is in if they're acquiring players just for cap issues.

Well, the NBA is a classless league, so it's all good.

Yeah, the league has done a good job of marketing only two people. Crosby and Ovechkin. They seem totally disinterested in shoving any other athletes down anybody else's throats. But that's what marketing is and that's what other leagues have done. The league needs to promote other players.
