What if this is Holland's next move?

Wings re-sign Eaves to 3-year, $3.6m contract

Eaves should fire his agent based on what Ericsson made. -
Wings re-sign Ericsson to 3-year, $9.75m contract

It'll be harder to move Ericsson with this salary come trade deadline. -
It's not the years that everyone is pissed about. We knew it'd be for more than one season. It's the money. If anyone predicted the price 24 hours ago, they'd be laughed off of LGW.

Ummmm......you better read the Ericsson thread bud. Looks like you just tuned in tonight.

I for one demand a personal apology from Holland via PM here on LGW. -

I dread how much money we're going to pay Jagr. -

Yzerman? -
It's stuff like this that got the league into a lockout a couple of years ago. Overpaying players who aren't that good.

Now you're just trolling this thread. For the first time EVER, every poster on LGW agrees on something unanimously, and you have to f*** it up. Do you actually think this was a good signing? -
If Ericsson = 3.75 million in Holland dollars, than Stamkos will cost about 20 million a year!
-
I appreciate what Holland has done in the past (even though a lot of that credit should go to Ilitch's money, Bowman, no salary cap, Yzerman and Lidstrom). However, I haven't been too keen on his unwillingness to make deadline moves the last two seasons, coupled with the Modano and Hudler acqusitions, and now this Ericsson overpayment. In sports, it's what have you done for me lately. That's the way thinking should go, otherwise teams won't ever progress anywhere by living in the past.

Maybe these are in Swedish currency. -

Be honest. Did you have this ridiculous post prepared ahead of time, knowing something like this would happen? -

So much for Holland thinking that all the free agents were getting overpaid. This is the worst signing so far by any team. Worse than Kopecky getting $3 million. -
Selanne didn't play on the 2003 Ducks team. He was in San Jose that year. And the only reason that team made the Finals was because of Giguere and his cheating, oversized pads. I was pulling for them against Jersey, but that team was a one hit wonder.
-
So did Holland say anything about McGrattan?
-
He was also one of only two skaters to be ranked 100 in my NHL 2000 game. The others being Teemu Selanne and Jaromir Jagr.
-
Probably a bit of both. I know he doesn't fight as often as he used to. He's still tougher than any of our current defensemen, but so is Doug Janik. Hence the comparison. With Rafalski gone, we needed some kind of offensive defenseman who could shoot right handed and play physical. Looks like there's no one left who fits that role anymore.
-
Winchester please. He's tall, Canadian, is physical and fights. Exactly what we don't have on our 4th line. A 6'5 forward who can wear teams down is just what we need. Guy can score a little as well. Get off the phone sex hotline and make a move Kenny!
-
I used to like this guy more than I do now. He's not as physical as he once was and isn't as good a fighter. I mean, he got owned twice by Bertuzzi in the same game. He's basically a slightly better version than Doug Janik.

Ehrhoff's rights traded to NYI, then traded to Buffalo
GMRwings1983 replied to Travis's topic in General
First, he was never better than ordinary, and second, we don't need a guy coming off a separated shoulder. He doesn't give us anything we don't already have, while Wiz does. Wiz is a right handed shot, and is physical and gritty. Ehroff is a poor man's Kronwall. That's the important thing in all this. -

Ehrrhoff is like that ugly chick everyone wants to go home with, just because there's no other girls left at the bar at closing time. This guy is getting way too much hype.
