Setoguchi was a more consistent playoff performer for them than Marleau, Thornton or Murd....I mean Heatley. Those other players will put together a good series here and there, but can never play well for the entire playoff run. Setoguchi seemed to bring it all the time. I'm starting to agree with people who don't think this was such a perfect move by San Jose. They did give up a lot here to get Burns, who's a guy that's been injury plagued.

Because we don't want there to be another guarantee. San Jose beating us in the playoffs again.

By "soft" he meant they're not from the right part of the world.

Obviously, God couldn't help Rafalski cut down on the turnovers.

Somewhere in Europe there's a factory that produces faceless jobbers, slaps annoying names on them, and ships them to the NHL.

What's so soft about the French? Andre the Giant and Napoleon were both Frenchmen.

If this Babcock is so unhappy, he can always take his talents elsewhere. Like say Florida. That's all we need is some bandwagoner coach who's going to disagree with Kenny Holland.

Ericsson is over-ripe?

Because this isn't 2008. It's 4 seasons later. -
Does anyone think "pissed off" and "Burns" shouldn't be in a sentence together?

Jagr?

Ericsson, Hudler and a pick for Wisniewski and Moen. -
If Holland doesn't obtain a big North American boy who fights, I'll riot worse than Vancouver.

I wonder if Brad Stuart would jump him in the shower while wearing a ski mask?

We should have a separate thread titled "ROFL signings". We'll start with the Bryzgalov signing.

Talbot reminds me of the scene in Pulp Fiction, between Bruce Willis and Marcellus Wallace. If I ever see him crossing the street, I'm hitting my gas pedal on that SOB.
-
Meh. What's he ever done in a big game?

I was thinking of the Toga party in Animal House.

Honestly, this may offend some people, but this is what my dream NHL would look like. A combination of the late 80's, plus several of today's franchises. Smythe Canucks Flames Oilers Sharks Kings Avalanche Norris Wings Blues Blackhawks Maple Leafs North Stars Jets Patrick Penguins Flyers Rangers Islanders Devils Capitals Adams Canadiens Bruins Sabres Nordiques Senators Whalers That's 24 total teams. Obviously, I would contract several franchises and move some others around. I know it would never happen, but like I said, this is what I prefer the divisions to look like in my dream world.

I see where you're going with that Ms. Hartnell.

Pronger.

Hudler for Mike Richards' jockstrap!

Just realized that sending Richards to LA may only increase his partying ways.

That's what I hinted at in the part below what you quoted. Just have an Eastern and Western Conference, with no divisions and 8 playoff teams in each Conference. Don't know if they'll ever do away with the divisions altogether, but it's a thought.
