    Kris Draper

He was a cross between Sandy McCarthy and Darren Pang.

Worst Alternate Jerseys in Hockey History

The Blues one was worse if we're only talking about NHL teams. Also, I love the joke about the Islanders guy being the killer from "I Know What You Did Last Summer"

    Kris Draper

I like Draper, but he's like the relative that doesn't know when to leave the party. I'd rather have a younger, bigger forward taking up 4th line minutes. We need to get younger as a team. And that was not easy for me to type.

    Kronwall's New Role?

So with Rafalski seemingly retiring, and Lidstrom possibly retiring, do you guys see Kronwall as ever being the top defenseman on the Wings? Or do you think Holland will pursue someone else to be top dog, whether it be Weber or Doughty or someone else? Obviously, sometime in the near future, both Lidstrom and Rafalski will be gone, so it'll be interesting to see what happens with Kronwall and whether his role expands. I'm not entirely sure that the top brass is willing to make him number 1 at any point in the future. He has played well in spurts, but has looked average too frequently at other stretches in his career. To be the top defenseman, you have to bring it every night, and I've never seen that from him over the course of a season. I still think he's a great second pairing defenseman, who can be a solid number 2 D-man on the team. But likely not top dog.

    Reeds v. Gallant: the rematch.

I've always thought Bridgman didn't play much in Detroit? I know he's a legend amongst Flyers fight fans during his time there, when he was a really good fighter in the early 80's.

MacIntyre has laid too many people out to be called a hugger.

    Joking right?

Brian Rafalski announces retirement after 11 NHL seasons

I wish this happened last season. Then we could have pursued Lebron.

    (1) Vancouver Canucks vs. (2) San Jose Sharks

Yeah, because San Hosay has so many fans here in the US. Either way, league won't get the Final ratings they've gotten the past 3 seasons.

    Your all-time team?

I'd rank at least Roy, Hasek, Tretiak, Sawchuk and Plante ahead of him. Maybe a few others too.

    Your all-time team?

Shows you how much better right-wingers are than left-wingers, in terms of all time players. The difference would be even more glaring if you made a top 20 from each of those two positions. I didn't choose that route, because I'd feel silly putting Robitaille ahead of Messier, Yzerman or Morenz.

    Your all-time team?

You contradicted yourself by saying that you never saw certain legends play, yet you had several on your list. So why would you include Harvey and Orr but not Hull or Richard? Mine would look like this. Lemieux - Gretzky - Howe Hull - Esposito - Richard Messier - Morenz - Lafleur Trottier - Beliveau - Yzerman Lidstrom - Orr Harvey - Robinson Potvin - Shore Roy Hasek

    (1) Vancouver Canucks vs. (2) San Jose Sharks

Kesler is certainly a good player, and is improving each year, but his whining and his attitude seem to be getting worse and worse each season also. What an ass he is.

    Atlanta Thrashers move to Winnipeg

Wait, so what happens to Phoenix?

    Atlanta Thrashers move to Winnipeg

So if the Wings do move, which division do we move to? Can't be the Southeast. No matter who moves there, only 3 teams will actually be located near the Southeast. Remember, Washington is already there and are hardly located in the Southeast geographically.

    Atlanta Thrashers move to Winnipeg

So this will be the second time hockey doesn't work in Atlanta. That's what happens when you move to one of the worst sports towns in the US.
  19. GMRwings1983

    Atlanta Thrashers move to Winnipeg

Nashville will likely move to the Southeast. Minnesota will move to the Central. Winnipeg will move to the Northwest. As I've stated before, the Wings are the only team in the West that guarantees ratings. The league will not be benefited by this move, even though us fans would love it.

The Red Wings in 2 to 5 Years

Well, when Yzerman, Fedorov and Shanahan left, we still had guys like Datsyuk and Zetterberg that were already there to fill their shoes. I don't see anyone on the team now in their 20's, who is a star forward of the future. I hope we'll still be good and competitive, but it will be harder with a salary cap to keep this team rolling every year. Although the cap doesn't exist anymore, the Wings of recent years are still similar on paper to what we had before. A continuation of the past of sorts. The future looks like a blur to me 5 years from now in Detroit. Too hard to predict. Anything could happen.

Not sure about Brookbank. Never really cared for the guy. He makes Erskine look like an offensive defenseman and is not that great a fighter. Wisniewski would be the best option, but he'll get more money than either player.

gritty players I would like the wings to sign

I've wanted Winchester on the Wings for a long time now. I don't like McCormick, but he wouldn't be a bad fit either. On defense, I like Erskine and would love to have a big physical defenseman like him on the team, who can move people out of the crease. He's played a lot of games for Washington, so he's not just some untalented fighter who hardly ever gets into the lineup. Rupp is another guy I like, and he can also play some good 4th line minutes. All these players give us something we don't already have on the bottom lines, or on the 3rd defensive pairing. They're not going to put us over the top, but will fix some of our weaknesses and make us a tougher team to play against overall. With Boogaard's passing, MacIntyre is now the top fighter in the game. I think Edmonton will likely keep him around.

Which conference would you rather have the Wings in?

East. Less travel and more sleep.

    Holland or Yzerman?

Starting now and for the future? Yzerman of course. Same reason Emperor Palpatine wanted Luke Skywalker to replace Darth Vader as his new apprentice. Holland has accomplished a lot here, but every GM moves on eventually, and I would have loved to see Yzerman move in as Wings GM because he'll always be a Wing to me. Only problem I see is him being conflicted and loyal to players he used to play with, which is a large part of this team. I think he would have felt uncomfortable making moves on some of these players who were his former teammates and friends. But alas, it's too late. Yzerman is not going to leave Tampa anytime soon. Doesn't strike me as that kind of person.
  25. As far as I know, our season is over? Why would we have the exact same players we had this season save one spot? I'm assuming Holland will make more changes than that.
