Starting now and for the future? Yzerman of course. Same reason Emperor Palpatine wanted Luke Skywalker to replace Darth Vader as his new apprentice. Holland has accomplished a lot here, but every GM moves on eventually, and I would have loved to see Yzerman move in as Wings GM because he'll always be a Wing to me. Only problem I see is him being conflicted and loyal to players he used to play with, which is a large part of this team. I think he would have felt uncomfortable making moves on some of these players who were his former teammates and friends. But alas, it's too late. Yzerman is not going to leave Tampa anytime soon. Doesn't strike me as that kind of person.

As far as I know, our season is over? Why would we have the exact same players we had this season save one spot? I'm assuming Holland will make more changes than that.

If the Thrashers move to Winnipeg, wouldn't Nashville be the likeliest choice to replace them in the Southeast Division? I'm guessing Minnesota would then take Nashville's place in the Central, while Winnipeg would take Minnesota's place in the Northwest Division. Hence, no Wings move. Also, I doubt the league would move the only team in the Western Conference that can give them good ratings.

Every year we won a Cup, we made some move in either the offseason or the deadline that contributed to our Cup effort. Something to change up the team. Didn't have to be anything major either. The last two seasons, Holland has done nothing at the deadline and hasn't exactly made great offseason signings which kept us competing for Cups. We're still a good team, but hardly Cup competitors when we're getting bounced out of the second round consecutively. I blame the Modano and Hudler moves on him. Same with Salei. We got slower and older, instead of signing younger players who could fit needs we didn't already have.

I would give anything to see someone paralyze Lucic and end his career someday. And I'm not just saying that based on this incident. I hate this ******* hunchback bastard spotpicker!

This team has won 8 straight playoff games! That's very impressive. In his first season, Yzerman seems to have assembled a team built for the playoffs. I wouldn't think that looking at their roster. Several star players, but the other players are hardly proven playoff vets. I didn't think these guys were getting out of the first round.

Ericsson probably saw how much Lebda got paid, and figured he deserved the same. I say Toronto signs him and pairs him with Lebda.

We should sign Sami Helenius.

That's terrible news. He was one of my favorite non-Wings and I loved watching his fights. He's about my age, so that's pretty scary stuff.

Maybe he'll take his talents to South Beach.

Hit me today that our season was over. I was hoping we could play on so that Lidstrom could challenge the all time playoff games record. Also, Datsyuk was playing so well that it's a shame to see his season end. I'd love to have seen how much further he could have taken his game.

I'll believe it when I see it. I hope it happens.
