I'm getting killed in this round. I only predicted the Vancouver series correctly. I did pick the Wings to win in 6, so hopefully that'll make things a little less painful for me if we can pull it off. What would you have picked? Would you have chosen Boston and Tampa to advance?

This is interesting. The one in 1996 will always stand out because of that game 7 and the way it ended. That was fun to watch. But if we pull this out, this series might take the cake. I guess only time will tell. Oh, also, I don't remember 1988, but I know it wouldn't be 2008 or 2009. Sweeping the Avs was fun, but beating the Sharks like this would be even better. 2009 was a series that pissed me off, because it shouldn't have gone 7. On top of that, I don't like to think of 2009 in general as being great in any way.

15 is a number that should be retired, since it was worn by both Mironov and Jason Woolley.

Him, Marleau and Murde....I mean Heatley, have to be the biggest playoff chokers in hockey. They never go down swinging when their team is eliminated from the playoffs. In contrast, their 2nd tier guys have proven themselves much more consistent in the playoffs, namely Clowe, Setoguchi and Pavelski. The character on that team is wrong, and it starts with Thornton. Neither he nor Marleau are particularly good captains.

When was the last time the Wings won a Cup with a young team?

That would be nice. A blowout. Definitely don't want another game or a heartbreaker like Chicago had in Vancouver.

Yeah, I did forget about Tampa. Doesn't count cause Crosby wasn't playing.

Unfortunately not, because Vancouver, Boston and Philly have all won a game 7 this year at home. Maybe we're due to break that streak. We need a Samuelsson like peformance from 2007 to close them out in their building.

On a more sour note, does that idiot who wears Larionov's number play in game 7? I say no. Can't afford an untimely penalty in OT which costs us the game. I'm done with him.

We're doing all the things in this series that we haven't been doing in recent playoff memory, including our two runs to the Finals. Namely, coming from behind in 3rd periods to win.
