Why should this matter? This isn't the NBA. You can't win on talent alone. We've seen the Wings lose plenty of times to teams we were more talented than at pretty much every position. Why can't we do the same thing to someone else? Will beats skill in hockey, and SJ is not that much more talented than us for the Wings to lose this series regardless of that fact. We're just too lazy.

I agree. They're at the top of the Conference every year, but never get out of the 2nd round. On another note, no one thought TB would be playing this well. They're on the verge of winning their 6th straight playoff game. Totally out of nowhere.

I actually like these lines. They've worked before, because it's similar to what we had last series, except Hank has taken Abby's place on the 2nd line, and Abby has replaced Miller with Flip and Hudler. This will hopefully work like it did against the Jets. However, I am a little surprised to see Modano not in. I wouldn't mind dressing him in place of Hudler for a game.

NHL coverage sucks doesn't it? I'll just watch it online. That's what you get when the NHL Network isn't showing any freaking games, while the NBA has like 3 channels broadcasting their playoff coverage. FU Bettman!

Not to mention, Marleau has often been invisible in the playoffs. I've hardly seen him in this series.

That was the game feed, though. Did they show an in depth replay during the game? I don't seem to think so. -
Modano was also a 96 overall in my NHL 2000 video game. Problem is, this isn't the year 2000, and Modano hasn't killed anything this season. If they dress him, it won't be because he "was" some great Sharks killer, but because we need to shake things up. No one is expecting him to score a point per game right now.

At one point yesterday, Niemi had a shutout streak of almost 5 periods. That ugly loser couldn't go 5 minutes without allowing a goal to LA. I hope to see some offensive breakout on Wednesday, which leads to a blowout and Niemi being chased from his net.

He gave up a bad goal in the 3rd period of each game. That's not exactly coming up big in the clutch. Chances are we'd have lost anyway, but he can't give up questionable goals when Niemi is giving up nothing. Still, he's been our best player and has looked much better than last year.

I almost forgot about that. That breakaway goal would have been huge for us, and may have turned the entire game around. I think Helm is missing his older prototype Draper.

There are a few guys on this team who are irreplaceable. He's not one of them. I don't see anything wrong with exploring other options. And where did you get the idea that he shut down Doan? Or that a 23 year old forward should normally be playing his rookie season?

I think it's my duty (with Mindfly gone), to mention that Howard's soft goal was the game winner tonight. Carey Price stops that s*** every time.

No, we'd beat Trashville. They don't have San Jose's talent, and we'd begin the series at home.

As I said in the GDT, we need to get rid of this guy. He doesn't do anything that can't be replaced by guys that do it much better. He should be trying to hit everything with a Sharks jersey out there. Instead, the only physicality he's shown involves high sticking people.

That top line would cause Datsyuk to die of fatigue. I would also bring in Madonna and Draper, but at this point, it has nothing to do with line combos. If more than half the team looks slow and unmotivated, it's kind of hard to think of line combos that would improve things.

It's obvious now that Mclellan was the reason we won the Cup. As for the Gold Medal, that was Crosby's doing. Bring back Hitl.......I mean Dave Lewis.

Worse. He needs to be let go in the offseason. There are plenty of physical players out there who makes his money, actually fight, and also have no offensive upside of any kind. In a physical series like this, he should be bringing it on San Jose's candy asses. I'm done with this man.
