Bryzgalov was subpar against us last season, and he's followed it up tonight with another softy. No one seems to remember the countless soft goals he gave up in those 7 games last year.
-
Great 2nd period. We need to step on their throats here. No comeback bulls***. And I hope to see someone challenge Doan, preferably Ericsson. That idiot needs to be quited down, before he runs anymore of our players or tries to elbow anyone else in the head. That's what enforcing is about.
-
I won't blame the refs for our defense running around like a bunch of headless chickens. The faceoffs and the defensive breakdowns are the reason we're down 1-0.
-
So freaking lucky to be down by 1.
-
We can't win a faceoff to save our lives.
-
We need some good scoring chances. You know, like the ones Phoenix is getting.
-
Rafalski had to f*** it up there didn't he?
-
Are we playing the Hawks? BS officiating.
-
Ericsson needs to challenge that motherf***er Doan! I'm tired of his s*** already.
-
I see Babcock has stuck with the same defensive pairings.
-
Madonna has been useless, but I figured Holland/Babcock would still dress him to save face and maybe have him prove them right. After all, this was why they signed him in the offseason. I didn't agree with the signing, but they may as well ride with it now.

My favorite Tyson Nash memory is when Shanny punched him in the face. It was a little cheap, but funny as s***.

It's no secret that our defensive pairings this season have not exactly panned out. Too many turnovers and way too much miscommunication. Lidstrom had his worst plus/minus ever, and too many times players just didn't look comfortable out there. What are the chances we see the top 4 return with Lidstrom/Rafalski and Kronwall/Stuart? I know that leaves Salei and Ericsson together, but it's better to have one s***ty pairing than several s***ty ones. Babcock and McCrimmon have been bullheaded all year when it hasn't been working, so I hope they won't let it carry over into the playoffs. And they can't worry about upsetting chemistry, because as I've mentioned, there hasn't been much this year in terms of the pairings.

Zetterberg says he will not play tomorrow

God, I hate that son of a ***** Bryan Allen. s***bag keeps doing this to our players. Bertuzzi should kill him the next time we play against a team he's on. -
Our 3rd pairings in our last two Cup runs were comprised of players most people thought would be a disaster together. Dandenault/Duchesne and Lilja/Lebda. Maybe Salei and Ericsson can do the same and prove people wrong. My biggest fear with those two is the amount of penalties each man takes. They're both way too sloppy and undisciplined.

Does anyone have a theory actually as to why we've stuck with these pairings? Do Kronwall and Stuart just refuse to be on the ice together or something? It hasn't worked all year and has worked fine in the past, when the Wings were better defensively. This year's pairings are an experiment that should have never lasted this long. I may be missing something here. Obviously, injuries have shaken things up somewhat, but even when they've been healthy, Babcock has done the same thing. I guess he sees potential in the pairings, even though it hasn't come through yet.

Yzerman played on his knee back in 2002. Hank's knee can't be any worse right? Otherwise, we won't have him for most the year next year. -
Seems like many people over the last year or so think he's done being a nominee for this trophy anymore. I don't agree. Last year he played a lot better as the season went on, after people started coming back from injuries. If this team stays healthy, and is as good offensively as people think it will be, I see Nick as having another good run at this trophy. His game has dropped off a little, but he's still capable of putting together another year better than any other defenseman. It would give him 7 and tie him with Doug Harvey.

Would Versus be stupid enough to only show 30 minutes of the Wings game?
-
And we were terrible at home against Phoenix last year.
-
There are tons of Wings games televised on Versus, NHL Network and NBC. The others that I feel like watching, I'll watch through streams online.

Congrats to St. Louis for winning the "Soft Euro Award". Might be the first NA player to win this.
