If it goes 6, that means we are having troubles with them. No trouble, would be a sweep or maybe 5 games.

Only player to hit 300 PIM this season, with a total of 307 PIM. It's his second year in a row winning this category. In fact, the next closest was Chris Neil with 210 minutes. Boy, I remember when there used to be 10 guys or so every season to hit 300. Now, it's a truly rare feat, with the way the league suspends tough guys and the fact that pure enforcers don't play in the game anymore.

Boy, scoring 50 goals has become like it was back when Gordie Howe and Maurice Richard were playing. A truly rare feat. I know we won't see a return of 80's or early 90's goal scoring anytime soon, but for only one player to do it in a league that's trying to promote goals, is pretty freaking lame. You'd think with all these powerplays and rule changes over the last few years, it'd be more common. God, I hate those damn butterfly goalies.
-
Other teams' fans would love to have so much attention and televised games. I'm more inclined to complain about all the late night games we have to play, due to being in the wrong Conference.
-
Yeah, Crosby was on pace to score 60 goals and over 130 points. Still, it's pretty disconcerting to see only a handful of players hit 50 goals every year. I remember back in 2004, 41 goals won the Richard Trophy.

I (like most fans here) don't live in Detroit.
-
Well, that was my opinion about the excitement level that this series will generate. Just being honest about it.
-
They did last year, and the Wings have looked bored too often this season. If they play as lazily as they did last year against Phoenix, this could be another long series. Unnecessarily at that.
-
That's what I think of this series and these teams.
-
Sucks that the game won't be televised. Hopefully, Drum will have his stream rolling.
-
If Doan tries to act tough this time, Ericsson needs to step in there and quiet him down. After all, he did injure Ericsson last year at one point. I think the Wings have to actually take this one seriously. You know, unlike last year, where we monkeyed around all the way till game 7

I know. Especially when one has to get up at 6 every morning for work, and drive long distances. Don't know what toll it'll have on my body, since I'm not in college anymore, where I can just skip out early whenever I want. If we ever move to the Eastern Conference, I'll have the biggest party I've ever had, just to commemorate it. Oh and I'd rather start on Wednesday. Don't want to wait an extra day.

Had Dallas won, all 5 Pacific Division teams would have made the playoffs. If I'm not mistaken, that has never happened in any Division?
-
Any word yet on when the series begins?
-
I agree and don't care either way about this game. Chicago would make life tougher for Vancouver. On top of that, Dallas has screwed us over enough times recently with BS officiating calls in their favor, for me not to feel bad if they're eliminated.
-
Yes, against the Sharks and Canucks, because those teams are loaded with star forwards as well. No against the Preds. They are similar to Phoenix in terms of talent. They don't win because of great scoring and skill. They do it on defense and Rinne. Of course it'd be great to have him for all the series, but in terms of who's better on paper, we are still much better than Phoenix.
-
Guys, we're playing against the Coyotes. They are so much less talented than us, that if we can't beat them without Zetterberg, we don't deserve to win the series. This series won't be about two teams with firepower trying to outdo each other. It'll come down to goaltending and defense. Ours better be up for the challenge. Also, we can't s*** the bed at home like we did last year against Phoenix.
-
LOL. I bet there's some "upheaval" in their GDT right about.......NOW!
-
Don't start that s***. There has never been a bandwagon on this board. Everyone here is a Wings fan who wants to see them win. No one would take their time to post here otherwise. I'm sure Crymson and Nightfall don't need your help with posts like these. Me and many others have gotten carried away here before, but I don't think any of us honestly want to see the Wings fail, just to prove that we're right. I'd much rather be wrong, like I was today.
-
With Zetterberg out, that would screw the line combos up even more. Any word on Eaves and Kronwall?
-
Our powerplay was very ineffective in this game.
-
I think Anaheim has already clinched the 4 seed.
-
I'm glad I was wrong. It means life has some unpredictability left in it. I'd like to be even more wrong come early June.
-
This is awesome. Either these idiots miss the playoffs, or they play Vancouver in the first round. I don't know whether to cheer for Dallas tonight or not? We all know who Vancouver would rather play. Either way, we did our part and actually showed up to play today.

We're gonna have to win this game despite the refs. This game is definitely rigged.
