I'm glad I was wrong. It means life has some unpredictability left in it. I'd like to be even more wrong come early June.
-
This is awesome. Either these idiots miss the playoffs, or they play Vancouver in the first round. I don't know whether to cheer for Dallas tonight or not? We all know who Vancouver would rather play. Either way, we did our part and actually showed up to play today.

We're gonna have to win this game despite the refs. This game is definitely rigged.
-
******* bulls*** should have been interference. And these biased *** announcers don't say anything about it. We're not gonna get a powerplay tonight are we? Just as I wrote that, they didn't call a high stick. F this s***.

Who would you rather face in the 1st Round?

Phoenix. More Wings fans on the road. -
How many playoff series has Lundqvist stolen during his illustrious career in New York?
-
Can we still play Columbus in the first round?
-
As I've said before, without Zetterberg, I'd rather play them than a very skilled Hawks team. We'd just have to play actual good defense and goaltending to beat a team like the Preds. We wouldn't need to score much or contend with highly skilled forwards who Zetterberg would need to neutralize. Besides, the Preds have never won a playoff series in their history and we've handled them before.

Go Sharks. To hell with getting the 2nd seed.

Michigan-Minnesota Duluth in the Championship!

Hey, at least espn is actually showing a freaking hockey game. With Gary Thorne no less. -
Michigan-Minnesota Duluth in the Championship!

Michigan deserved that. They did nothing offensively for the last period and a half in this game. Just sat back and let the other team come at them. They'll regret that strategy for a long time to come. -
Preds just lost in regulation. I believe that means if Phoenix gets 0 points tonight, we cannot play Chicago in the first round no matter what. If Phoenix gets 1 or 2 points tonight, we will play Chicago in the first round if we lose tomorrow. Correct me if I'm wrong on this.

I predict Gary Thorne will make a great call, no matter who scores. -
Crosby will make Yzerman bow down to him.

How big of an impact has losing Scotty had on our franchise?
GMRwings1983 replied to a topic in General
He had an impact on the team, but not a big one in his last few seasons. It's an organizational thing, and Holland, Babcock and Devellano had the biggest impact on the team in terms of hierarchical decision making. Bowman was just a special advisor of some kind. Not quite a consigliere. He's had a bigger influence in Chicago, since he's like their Senior VP or something like that. -

Bring back Gary Thorne, NHL! -
Montreal should have gotten an enforcer at the deadline. Boston will try to bully them every chance they get.

Rangers seemingly haven't done s*** in the playoffs since 1994. I think the Caps will win this series. If not, that team should be gutted in the offseason, and Boudreau will most likely be fired.
-
You messed it up. Drake played with Draper and Cleary. Sammy played with Franzen and Flip.

You're right, I was thinking more of 2008. However, our defense in 2009 was still better than this one. The chemistry was better and we didn't have this many breakdowns and humiliating performances in the regular season. I still think the top 4 D-men were better in 2009 than they are now.
-
You're wrong. All those players were much better in 2008/2009 than they are now. Kronwall was a beast in those 2008 playoffs, and I thought he'd continue that after the postseason was over. He hasn't. Lidstrom, Rafalski and Stuart are a bit older now, and not as good, especially in their own zone. More importantly, the team defense and chemistry was better then. This season, it's been a nightmare and the pairings have been terrible. Lastly, Lilja and Lebda played well together in those playoffs. Ericsson and Salei haven't shown any consistency at all this season.

We will get horribly raped on Sunday. :deal:
-
That would give Vancouver and San Jose cakewalk series, while we'd be stuck playing the Hawks.

2008 against Columbus. Wish every series was that stress free. 2002 against Colorado, if you're talking about a classic, memorable series, where everything was on the line. The quality of the two teams was incredible in terms of star power.
