If Ozzie didn't take so long in coming back, he would have secured a starting position in the playoffs. Babcock has not been afraid to bench Hasek or Ozzie in his time here. I have no doubts that he would have benched Howard as well, who is a much less accomplished goalie than those two. Now, I'm not so sure. Ozzie doesn't have any time to get back to playing shape, in order to start the playoffs.

This "eutrotrash" brand of hockey has gone on too long. The laziness of this team is infuriating. The Pens have had injuries all year, but they play a tight checking, defensive and gritty style of hockey, and have good goalies to boot. The Wings are just a fancy pants team which is afraid to work hard and is awful defensively and in net. I wouldn't be surprised if Pittsburgh goes farther in the playoffs than us, despite not having Crosby and Malkin. They just play harder and play a style more suited for playoff success.

We need to bring Ozzie back real quick, get him about 5 starts, and start him in the playoffs. I'm not thrilled with that scenario, but it's better than Howard. I can't understand why Holland would sign him to that extension. Yeah it was a cheap contract, but that means we're stuck with him as our goalie for the future. We didn't play a great period, but he's totally taken the emotion out of the building with his soft goals, and we're already down 2. If he was in the Pens net, then we'd be the ones up by a few goals.

Dumb play by Kronwall. If Eaves was legitimately hurt there (as in torn ACL or something), then you can't have him risk trying to move too quickly. Like when they tell people at accident scenes to not move the injured party, for risk of worsening the injury. On the bright side, it's the first time Kronwall has done anything aggressive this season.

It's pretty sad that Erat and Legwand were acting tough and no one stood up against them. I mean, we don't exactly need an enforcer to handle those guys. I remember reading something on LGW about Babcock or Holland encouraging Abby to play tougher and fight occasionally. I don't remember if it was an article or just a few posters saying that it happened.

Because he's been encouraged by Holland and Babcock to up that part of his game. Why did he take those so-called boxing lessons in the offseason? I know he's not an enforcer, but he was the toughest guy we had in the lineup not named Ericsson or Bertuzzi. One hasn't fought in ages, and the other magically loses his balls game to game. Abby should have stepped up for the team there. Certainly he can beat someone like Legwand or Erat.

Haven't seen you in a while. Yeah, I wouldn't want to play Chicago in the first round. Then again, I wouldn't want to play anyone but Minnesota either. We've been subpar against all the playoff teams in the West this year.
