Our checking line consists of Hudler, Filpulla and Modano. Three guys who are soft and "don't" check. God help us in the playoffs if we plan on wearing teams out with that combo.

You could say that about at least 5 or 6 teams in the league. If we play our A game, that means someone else isn't playing theirs. The whole point is to not let someone play their A game. We're not that much better than anyone else, that we can win the Cup at will if we felt like it. Other teams are exploiting some of our obvious weaknesses and not letting the Wings play their A game.

I hate the comparisons to 2008. Most of our young players hadn't won the Cup at that time (hence they were more hungry). More importantly, we had Hasek and Osgood as our goalies. This team isn't as hungry anymore, and doesn't have any good goalies heading into the playoffs. Stop making this ******* comparison already!

If the Wings were willing to bench Hasek, Cujo and Osgood, why can't we bench Howard? Just because he's younger? There's plenty of good young goalies in hockey that pop up every year. I just don't see him as a big game goalie. He folded in the playoffs last year, and it's followed him into this season.

I've nicknamed him Nessie, after the Loch Ness Monster, who appears as often as Franzen does. Guy just doesn't know how to play a full 82 game season. Not used to it.

Actually, that goal deflected off the defenseman if I'm not mistaken. Howard's goal was another bad use of rebound control. Guy is wearing clown shoes out there.

Our stars took the ******* night off, despite having several days of rest. Thank you Holland for sitting on your ass at the deadline. Since you know your job is not in jeopardy, you obviously don't feel like doing anything anymore to shake things up. And resigning Howard was a mistake. It was a cheap contract, but that means he'll be around for several years. We should have freed up some cap space to pursue a real goalie instead. Guy has to give up a s***ty goal in every game. Look at what Quick did on the other end.

I don't buy any of that bulls*** about him taking boxing lessons. Each time he fights, he looks a little awkward and probably wouldn't last too long if he did it regularly. At this point, as others have said, he's very expendable.

No. They won Sunday, but didn't move up because both Buffalo and New York won as well. That's the problem with being so far behind. You have to pray that no one else wins either, or else your win counts for nothing. Also, take into consideration that there will be 3 point games.
