Howard needs to stop whining to the ref. Carey Price would have made that save, even with a guy on top of him.
-
If he loses the Norris because of this, I'll never forgive Howard.
-
Much better. Agreeing with me will get you far in my book.
-
Thanks for addressing my other points at least.

I'll take the last decade. 1999: Cup is ours with Chris Chelios, Wendel Clark and Ulf Samuelsson joining the team. Up 2-0 against the dives and going home, we have no chance of losing. 2000: We're not as good as Colorado and Dallas. 2001: Good chance to win with Colorado being our only real threat. 2002: Please don't choke. We're too good not to win. 2003: Cup is ours. Roster is too talented to lose. Second straight Cup win very likely. 2004: Cup is ours. Another Presidents trophy and the best team heading into the playoffs. 2006: Same is 2004. 2007: Please get out of the 1st round. 2008: Good team but not destined to win the Cup. 2009: Favorites to win the Cup as long as we're hungry enough. 2010: Not getting out of the 2nd round. 2011: Philly and Vancouver are better. We're not good enough on defense and in net.

Tired of these ******* late night West coast games during the working week. I wish they had this trip on the weekend when some of us could actually watch the games. Can't wait till we move to the Eastern Conference and avoid this s*** numerous times a year.

Because not every team has the philosophy the Wings have. Deal with it. Way too much whining in this thread. Players who play this style are occasionally going to do something a little overboard. Can't have it both ways guys. Many enforcers and big hitters get suspended from time to time. Guys who don't get suspended are guys like, say Hudler. Most pure enforcers aren't that much more talented than him. Look around the NHL and you'll see what I mean.

Wouldn't mind having this guy on our team someday. And no, I'm not kidding.

If Lilja was still here, this would all be easily resolved, because he looks like Leonidas from the film 300. C: Lilja A: Datsyuk A: Zetterberg
-
I wouldn't mind if Pavel gets it. He's more visible every game than Zetterberg has been. Hasn't taken him long to dominate since coming back from injury either. It's like he never left. I guess Zetterberg must be doing something in the lockerroom better than Datsyuk is, because he's been all but named as the future captain. I don't think it should be an open and shut case. Maybe they could be co-captains or alternate. I normally don't like that, but in this case it would be fine. They are the Euro twins after all.

Yeah, it is disappointing that a team which frequently struggles to play a complete game plays such a great game for 55 minutes, and then s***s all over themselves in the last 5 minutes. I know a team can be complacent when up by 6 goals, but you still have to play the entire game. We've been lazy too many times this season and I guarantee you Babcock must have been pissed after the meltdown.

If I wasn't a Wings fan, I'd probably be saying the same thing. Some wise asses on this forum always assume that the NHL wants the small market teams to win, hence those teams always get calls against the Wings. Just depends on what side you're on. Everyone thinks they're getting hosed. Just natural. What makes this particular situation bad is that I don't expect to hear such whining from a GM.

I don't think their franchise has ever been in this position before. Being the top favorite in the West and maybe to win the Cup. Interesting to see how they respond. Hopefully, really poorly. -

You're right, my humor is not that subtle. For some reason, I read that as Steve MacIntyre. I had heard in fight circles that the Habs may be looking for a tough guy. I just saw MacIntyre and figured they made their move. And yes he does still play in Edmonton. -

Why would they need another enforcer now that MacIntyre is there? -

I see Montreal finally decided to get a tough guy in their next game against Boston. Should make things rather interesting. -
Last year, Lidstrom's stats sucked when we had so many injuries. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Letang wins it over Lidstrom, although I'd still give it to Nick. Yes, I'm biased.
-
That sounds awful. Hopefully, he makes it through this.
-
This game definitely improves Hudler's trade potential. I'm so glad for him.
-
Four straight shootout wins. Guess we finally decided to practice them.
-
If we have to go to either Conklin or MacDonald in the playoffs, we're f***ed anyway. No point in going after a goalie just to play backup. MacDonald can play a few games here and there. It's not like Howard is outplaying him. MacDonald is a decent backup for now.
-
He's no better than Howard. Why would we get him? It's one thing to make a move at Nabokov, who would probably have been our playoff starter with Howard playing like dogs*** all year, but Conklin is nothing to get excited about.
-
But you've got to stay active and not be complacent. We don't need major shakeups, but sitting on our asses the last 3 years in a row at the deadline is a little disconcerting. Not to mention, we have weaknesses on defense and in net.
-
Why would we do anything? We've won the last 3 Cups in a row. No reason to change what isn't broken in the playoffs.
