For people bringing up 2008, we had Hasek and Ozzie that year, and Ozzie was playing out of his mind all year. This team currently does not have a goalie who's playing well enough to go deep in the playoffs.

Willa Ford is hotter. And Mr. Carrie Underwood won't help the Preds win an actual playoff series.

Yet despite the injuries, they're playing well all year. I wish we could play like that when we have injuries. We only have Stuart out on defense, yet our defense looks like it couldn't stop a high school team from scoring. Don't know what this will mean for them in the long run or in the playoffs, but they're playing through the injuries like a great team should. And playing better than .500 hockey since December, unlike the Wings.

Yeah because they've played so well since December. If not for the hot start early, we'd be battling for a playoff spot right now. They're not playing like one of the top teams right now. The scary part is the effort. We have too many good players and leaders not to show up every night.

Geez, what team does Montreal remind me of? And I'm tired of the Bruins spotpicking. I'd love to see some enforcer just grab the hunchback and the giraffe and start pounding away at them.

I don't expect him to start the playoffs. Babcock has benched goalies before, and the Wings did try to acquire Nabokov not too long ago.

He made a lot of big saves against us in the Finals. Besides, he was very young in 2009 and still nowhere near his prime. I don't see why you wouldn't choose him for a franchise just because you don't think he played well in those playoffs statistically. That was like 2 years ago. The question was about picking a franchise goalie for the future. -

I'd go with Fleury. I hate the guy, but he's better than people give him credit for. I know the Pens don't exactly need him to stand on his head every game when they're healthy, but we've seen him play magnificent before, just like other goalies around the NHL. After all, it's the era of the goalie, so I have no doubt he could carry a bad franchise that's just starting out. He's won a Cup before and he's only 25, as blueadams said. -

OK. However, I don't think Tinordi would have jumped him if he was then captain. Nick wasn't that respected yet as a player. It was still a cheap move though, because he's a non-fighter. -

First, I was about to mention this fight before you posted it. Second of all, how can you suggest I dislike Lidstrom? That's definitely not true. Finally, I hate it when Ken and Mickey say he's never been in a fight. Although, technically he wasn't the one fighting. BTW, Tinordi is a ******* *****. -

I'll never forget when this stupid jake joined them in 2008 and we had that playoff series against them. Classic. This doesn't change anything in the West. They're still a big underdog compared to the other teams in the Conference.
