Anyone know what the worst plus/minus is for any Norris winner? Seems like every year it's someone with a relatively good plus/minus.
-
I honestly don't even know how to search for posts. Doesn't seem like something that is easy or time saving. Nice bluff by Doc Holliday there. Like anyone will wade through thousands of posts just to find something.
-
They miss Nabokov. The guy played 70+ games for them each season in the last decade and was very consistent. People didn't like his playoff games, but at least he got them there.
-
Everyone says that plus/minus is a skewed and overrated statistic, yet the same people rave every year about Lidstrom's high plus/minus totals. Let's be objective a little folks. You can't have that stat both ways.

I like the old school orange and black jerseys from the late 80's and early 90's. The ones used for the '97 ASG were cool also. These jerseys are OK, so I can't really complain. Better than most NHL jerseys actually.

Just admit you're anti-enforcer already, and then everyone will drop the subject. About as big a secret as Elton John being ***.

Maybe he's po'd about having that awful Matthew McConaughey haircut.

Red Wings asked NHL not to pick Zetterberg for all star game

Mind sharing your secret? -
I think we should draft some big, tough WHL kid who likes to fight and punch Blues players for pure sadistic pleasure. Like a young Scott Parker type.

I'm just saying that every player could skip the game for wanting to spend more time with the family. -

Apparently, Zetterberg is the only player in hockey with a hot wife. -
It'd be awesome if Washington signs him and he plays on the same line as Semin. I can't remember the last time the Wings got a high pick in the draft, which I guess is a good thing.

Name Me a Better 2-Way Player Today than Henrik Zetterberg…

Good thing you're not a mod then. You seem too sensitive for that job or have some personal issue that you can't seem to put aside. This thread was derailed in the first page when people made jokes and brought up the ASG and s***ty players (which is fine by me actually). Just don't pin that on me. I was actually trying to make a valid post. Why don't you whine about the posters who are talking about Leino and Kopecky? I don't think anyone is a better two-way forward than Pavel. I've said that before. Is that the great discussion you were looking for? Highly entertaining, isn't it? Pavel and then probably Hank. -

Apparently I should have just come in here and said, OMG, Datsyuk is the only two-way player better than Hank! OMG that is so cool! End thread, since there's nothing else to discuss. Excuse me for actually wanting to look at the argument differently after I'd already answered what the OP wanted. How about you stop acting like some mod and stop whining about nothing. -

I'm pretty sure nobody said that. -

Not really. I've agreed with everything you said about Zetterberg, but have added my opinion that I think being a great two-way forward can sometimes be overrated when comparing players in general. This seems like the perfect thread to state my opinion on two-way forwards and how that whole concept of being a complete player can be overstated somewhat. Like I said, I'd take a Gretzky over a Messier any day. I already answered the thread several times, so please don't give me any BS about derailing it. Just stating my opinion. You need to get over it. -

Basically. However, I don't think the thread is pointless. I'm merely trying to state my opinion on two-way players vs. one-dimensional players. It's not as cut and dry as people think. Zetterberg is one of the 2 or 3 greatest two-way forwards in hockey, but certainly not one of the 2 or 3 greatest forwards in hockey, period. Just trying to put things in perspective. -

It does matter. But he's not the only successful playoff performer in the NHL. In a cap free, sense free world, there's about 7 or 8 forwards I can think off the top of my head, who I'd replace Zetterberg with. That's not a lot, though, so he's definitely great. I was just trying to make the point that being a complete forward doesn't necessarily mean you're a better NHL player than a one dimensional forward. -
Deveraux played very well in the 2002 playoffs.

I just want to remind people that Messier and Yzerman were a lot better two-way players than Gretzky or Lemieux. But which forwards would you rather have on your team? I'd rather have Gretzky and Lemieux. -
I watched the last one, although not exactly glued to my TV. I remember when I was a kid, I loved it when many Wings players were in the ASG. Don't know why you guys are so against it now and want all our stars to sit out in protest. Datsyuk is hurt and Zetterberg was snubbed. No reason for Lidstrom or anyone else to sit out. Not a good way to promote the game for future fans.

Being great two-ways is important, but not necessary to be a great player. Otherwise, Crosby is not yet a great player, which sounds idiotic, since he's dominating the league every game he plays. This thread wasn't even about playoff success, so I don't know why you brought that up. -
We have more talent on paper defensively than any team in the league. We should be a lot better than average in the NHL. If you don't think the defense has been sub-par, then you're an even bigger blind homer than everyone here thinks you are. Has nothing to do with half empty or full. Has to do with honesty and not being biased. The defense has not cut it this season.

Red Wings asked NHL not to pick Zetterberg for all star game
GMRwings1983 replied to Kingston's topic in General
Why would the Wings do this? The game is like 3 weeks away. Is he planning on getting injured before the game or something? If he's healthy, he should play, especially since he's never played in one before. -
Honestly speaking, about 1/3 of the guys who get picked won't play, either due to injury or wanting to sit out. Happens that way in every league. Maybe Hank will get in that way.
